Since they don't make one for an M2, I ordered one for a Mustang, and it seems to fit fine! It's very stretchy.

Still looks in great condition. Have you picked up any rock chips / damage?. How is that solved if you want to restore a panel?.

The product is just becoming available here in Australia and some of the traditional PPF installers are not keen on it...I suspect that may be because it could take away their customers!.

It resists rick chips as well or better than PPF.

Small chips can be smoothed out with a hot hair dryer and some rubbing. Larger ones can just be filled in with a dab of extra autoflex, which my installer provided.

And, yes, PPF installers don't like it. It's competition!

OP, Thanks for the great info as well as updates to how they hold up over time!

I am going to get autoflex done within a month or so (getting some body work done prior to it) and have narrowed down my color choices to either the new Isle of Man Green introduced for the G80/82 M3/4 or San Marino Blue. I want to go the Isle of Man Green route because it's a bit more new and unique but I just keep on coming back to this awesome color! If I go the SMB route, I definitely will have you and the striking photos you have to thank for that.

Interesting comment on the rock chips. Your comment suggests that autoflex could be dabbed on like touch-up paint, which runs in contrast to what the installer in my area suggested, which is to respray the whole panel in cases of larger chips. Can you confirm/elaborate on the touch up? I do drive in the mountains a lot so I get A TON of them, and having peace of mind about the chips and remedies would really be helpful. Right now, my thought is to simply ask for additional layers of spray on the front bumper, rocker panels, rear quarters and mirrors for increased protection, but perhaps I should ask the installer to leave a bit of autoflex left over for touch-up purposes.

Looks great!

I’ve purchased used silver wheels that were plastidipped black (stripped before sale) and noticed that the finish looks darker than undipped original wheels. Is there any chance of the Autoflex leaving behind a similar tint on lighter colors after removal?

Autoflex does not leave any residue or colorizing.

As to an earlier question, I was given a small tube of Autoflex in SMB by my shop, and used it to fill in a few small chips. It worked well, but the tube dried out after about a year.

Finally, MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎅 to all of my Bimmerpost friends! 🎄

Chiming in as another PDX person who had their car wrapped with Dom in SMB. Just completed a ceramic coating on it today (CSL & EXO).

He does a great job with Autoflex! The keys are experience and a great paint gun and booth. He's definitely the guy to go to if you want your car sprayed. Rose City.

I dig that shade of blue and I wish the M2 came in that color also. As nice as HS is, I really wanted a blue car this time around but I didn't love LBB as much as I wanted to.

Quick snapshot of the cars out. I do love the E46 look, especially in that color.

Has anyone removed the Autoflex and confirmed that the paint underneath is still perfect?

Curious about how the Autoflex has held up on that SMB M2, looks amazing.

Not on mine. But my installer has re-Autoflexed his car multiple times to try different colors,, and it peels right off.

I just love that color. I know you got this done awhile ago, but how many miles have you now covered since the color change?
