I agree with you, but that buys us extra 20+ days during which maybe BMW could come up with something special for those that waited and desperately tried to experience this final event.

Or you might find that your vehicles were sitting somewhere and exposed to the weather for longer that you wanted. I picked up my car this past week and was shocked to see how much rust is on the brake drums. I was also pissed that the dealer prep did not include them taking the wheels off to at least wash the rust off the rims. Needless to say the GM at the dealer will hear it from me. It appeared that they could not care less about the deal as I guess they did not make the usual over MSRP on an M car. It's crazy what some Northeast dealers expect folks to pay.

I got an email from the embassy and they changed the travel warning from do not travel to reconsider travel. Also another warning about terrorist groups plotting attacks.

I saw that as well. A such as I'd love to see it as a precursor to an opening, I'm not holding my breath!

Well at least they must have felt some remorse. I just got 8% off MSRP and an additional $3000 in rebates from them on a new X5 plus 0.9% financing. The are deals to be had out there.

Updated 8/16. The EU Council updated the list of approved travel on 8/7/20, one week ahead of time. I don't yet know if they are changing to a weekly cadence (if they are they're already late) or why it was pulled up a week. However, US travel restrictions remain in place.

Updated 09/06/20. US is NOT on the approved list, however, infection rates have improved 23.97% when compared to the prior rolling 14 day time period.

I am a US expat living in Germany and I wouldn't count on the rules changing anytime soon. I doubt US travelers will be allowed while US is closed to EU travelers. Sucks, but politics are in play on both sides.

Inside the EU there are also areas which are 'red' and testing on arrival as well as quarantine are required if traveling there. All of Spain is red, as well as certain areas of France and many other countries. What a mess of a year 2020 has been.
