Supra Fuel Pump in OG m2..FINALLY!!!!

Our prayers are being answered. NVM has a pretty cool youtube channel and are keeping the OG M2 modding alive. Check out how well the supra Pump/b58 pump does on the n55.

We were speaking about this in another thread. It's 5000psi. Compared to xdi-35 which is 2900psi, and xdi-60 which is 3500psi. So that's A LOT of fuel!

Still don't know what's involved in the install. How much modification for it to work? What needs to be coded? How well do the injectors handle it? What is the part number? What does it cost? etc... Someone also theorized that it may be the same as the s58 x3m pump, but no one knows for sure.

The one thing that concerns me, and maybe I'm overlooking something here is the pressure the pump is supplying to the fuel rail / injectors. I know this can be set differently in the tune, so maybe it's a moot point but 5000 PSI seems like quite a huge jump in pressure for the OEM rail and injectors.

I distinctly remember that there was a post by XDI at some point stating that in their research they found that the OEM injectors didn't tolerate greater than a certain pressure for an extended period of time. Unfortunately I can't find that post, nor do I recall the number stated... Maybe someone remembers and can dig that info up!

F80 & f82 have same injectors with 2 fuel pumps.
high pressure is not a problem for injectors.

Where do I go to purchase this setup? I am very interested in making that swap to solve fueling issues entirely!

It is not max fuel to the injector all the time. It seems like inside the tune a max fuel pressure target is set with timing and boost targets in mind and the ecu figures it out. This is kind of mentioned in the video and the ecu did not need any coding according to the video either, swapped it and it started right up with no dct or trouble codes and ran smoothly, seems like he modified the flange so it bolts in correctly, reused the bucket that rides on the stock fp spring and tweaked the fuel lines, plugged it in and boom it works. Then it seems like the available envelope to work in with fueling is just alot bigger vs the n55 pump .

Everything you need to know is here.

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...589774&page=13 Starts at post 280.

Thomas got this running a couple months ago on his PS2 M135i. You can find the pumps on ebay out of Europe for around $500.

Everything I google is leading me to believe that part number isn't the 5000psi Supra pump in question.

The modifications required to fit the pump is actually not too bad besides cutting the base plate on an hpfp that is ~$1100. I want to see more use data out of this with e85.

Oh and I just read this in the linked thread, the hpfp to fuel rail line must be bent, and some plastic cut off of the manifold to make for better clearance on the hpfp connector side. The holes in the image looked more like notches in the metal which does bother me since it could be a weak point in mounting.

Overall not too terrible but it still feels so sketchy.

Supra have BMW engine.
BMW will never make a better engine part for another brand.

That's what I thought too but that doesn't seem to be the case. Apparently there are different variations of the B58 in the Z4 that also have this 5000psi hpfp, so it is not strange that the supra would have it too.

Yes z4 have 2 versions engines b58c & b58d.
Supra have b58c engine.

350bar fuel pumps were used before the supra was released.

Interesting...

Then just grab the 350bar off of the z4 b58d. But are you sure the later model supras didn't use the 350bar HPFP? it's difficult because real oem doesn't include the A90 supra, so part number searching is a challenge.

13518631642 is the part number. The pumps are same across all B58TU engines.

Dunno why the pics wouldn't show up earlier that make this post redundant.

These pictures in the previous post are not of the right pump. Itīs the "old" b58 pump and not the "supra" one.
Same work on flange has to be done though.
The part number is correct though. Just a heads up for people searching by picture
Flange, housing and connector orientation/direction is different.
It should look like this:

I know that in my pictures the pump is the old one....
The installation is the same procedure of the "supra"
This pump is better than the stock of n55.

Any reason at all to upgrade the fuel pump on a totally stock n55 M2? Would it also provide more midrange torque, just less than the big turbo setup in the video? Or would it have no effect on a stock motor?

Zero benefits whatsoever if your actual HPFP pressure is not below the target HPFP pressure, i.e. if your HPFP is not having issues flowing enough fuel this upgrade will give you zero gains, which would be the case on a stock m2.

You're better off getting a tune, chargepipes, downpipe, and intercooler.
