I went Porsche hunting at the 'Ring again today. Got stuck behind a 911 which would just not let me pass, even though I tried my best to fill his mirrors. Thankfully a McLaren Senna showed up to help get it out of my way

Right?! It made leaving us all in the dust look easy. It sneaks up on me like a space ship, and than it's like "later bitches" Super impressive car.

Morning was wet and foggy, so it was sketchy. Had to be very active on the wheel at ridiculously low speeds. In the afternoon at least the dry line became usable.

No clue who was driving the Senna. I snapped one picture of it in the parking lot and then it ghosted me on the track.

Got my registration in yesterday since buying my car last week. Had a fun wait at the DMV today to transfer my old personalized plates.

I did my quickest lap of the Ring so far. Official time was 8:07, and I lost 3-4s on traffic, particularly early in the lap. I also screwed up my entry in Bergwerk, which cost me exit speed for the long uphill straight, and I slowed down too much for Mutkurve. These 2 mistakes cost me another 3s or so. I think this could have been a 7:5X lap otherwise.

I will attempt again next year.

And think about where that Miata passed you, knowing that nutty first corner was coming. Weird, no?

And it looked like he was out-gunning you on the long downhill (sorry, don't know the names), which would be again, weird. I can see the advantage in the corners, but on the straight? Must be a true MONSTAR.

Thank you sir. Yes, difficult zone for passing, along with the next 2 corners, which is how long it took to clear the Porsche train. But if you're chasing lap times at the ring, then waiting for a safe passing zone is a no-go.

His powertrain was ... shall I say ... not stock? He caught up to be at Dottinger Hohe (long back straight past the on-track entrance), and pulled away like you mentioned from Flugplatz to Armberg.

Thanks! I plan one more day on the Nordschleife next year, and one more at Spa. I want one more chance to get into the 7s, and I REALLY enjoyed my one Spa day last year. But middle of next year I'm slated to return home to the US, so there will not be many more 'Ring videos. I will miss that place dearly

Indeed. That place was a pleasure to drive. Not as scary as the ring, but also lots of elevation change and fast corners. Got 2 videos from Spa on the channel, and definitely want to get a few more now that I have a lot more experience with the car, and Cup2s. It was the first track day I did with the M2 and I was stuck in comfort mode because I didn’t figure out the TPMS reset in time.

Just got my new spoiler delivered! It's the Phase Carbon high kick spoiler. Should be super aggressive and complement the RKP diffuser and R1 lip I'll be putting on later this month.

It's hard to tell from watching track videos but Spa is sort of in a bowl, you are walking down hill or up hill all day. I usually go to the 6hours and some other sport car races and the next day, my calves hurt so bad, it's hard to walk.

They haven't exactly ruined the track or anything but put the rallycross section in next to Eau Rouge was a mistake IMO, they killed the best place to watch the cars taking the corner and going up the hill.

So I found some footage of the same Senna on the Ring. Not yesterday, but similar conditions. Also same driver as yesterday. By my counting we're looking at 7:17ish lap. WOW.

I got the Dorch stage 2 HPFP, Fuel-it stage 2 LPFP & bluetooth ethanol analyzer installed and flashed bootmod3 to the e30 tune for now until I can get Halim's e40 tune.
