Maybe down the road I’ll kick myself for not buying a potential classic.... maybe the G87 surprise us...hopefully not to much of a pig/ugly front... but I doubt it, since how heavy the z4 is already. Consolidation prize is a OG m2 for life which isn’t so bad.
If you get the chance sell the m2 and pick up the CS. Promise you'll not regret it.

Good pointing this out. I really think few people seem to know all of these points, especially rev match on up shifts. Incredibly easy to drive manual and the build on these cars otta much better than it was. Contrast these cars with a Ferrari that you can actually burn through a clutch in a dual clutch car by slipping it too much on a hill!

To the other guy suggesting teaching his wife to drive stick, just forget it. Just forget it. She will either hate you, f up your car or both. I've purchased multiple pdk cars so she could drive them, which was also a waste since she wouldn't touch my Porsches anyway.

Yeah as someone who had an OG M2 DCT, the CS is orders of magnitude more enjoyable (you said maybe enjoy 25%, for me I personally enjoy it 10x more). When i sold my M2, i said i'd never miss it, and after 400 miles in the CS, i can't imagine selling it for a few cars i've wanted (like maybe a used Ferrari 458 or a 911 GT3 touring).

I never liked my 135i, so i didn't buy a 1M (which was a huge mistake). Never really loved my M2, and almost didn't buy a CS. Thank god I didn't make the same mistake twice.

Smart man yah I've owned BMWs my entire life (95 540i, 2002 330xi, and then owned an Audi B9 s4), and for the first time in my life, I can say that I'm in a car that I can't imagine selling. I was really close to buying an m2 comp and modding it but everything in the CS is just put together so well that I figured it would hold it's value without me putting to much $$ into it (aside from ceramic coating + PPF front).

It's a strange feeling but this car checks all the boxes and I can't get enough of it. Although I might have to sell in 2-3 years because we plan on starting a family but damm I really hope I don't have to.

I agree and will add if you want a new one I suspect you better hurry. It will be interesting to see where the values go in the used market first 5 years.

I have two car seats in my OG M2. No need to sell. Just make sure wifey has the big wagon to haul all the kids.

Ha! Funny thought on wife hating you. Your probably correct... only if I owed a 6 car garage and had the funds to have multiple specialized cars and still save for the little ones colleges...

Have you see couple of the used ones that were returned with 400 miles. Dealer listed them for 83k. Guess not to much of a hit. Maybe couple months from now a DCT version might be collecting dust since the new M3 is out and maybe I can grab it at discount... I doubt the manual ones will be around. My SA said she couldn’t get the boss to do .9 finance because he knew how special the car was so was gonna charge me 1.9. You wonder based on how much they were gonna make on my trade in, plus selling at msrp, just had to hit me with extra interest. Guess that’s the name of the game..

Like i said earlier in this thread, if i was in your shoes, i'd wait until a DCT is collecting some dust, and snag it for some money off + 0.9% financing. If reviews on the new M3/M4 come in poorly, i'd act after that. I suspect there are people who will see bad reviews there and then snag an M2 CS cause they are basically a similar price point.

One off cars showing up used mean nothing, someone could have beat the heck out of it for 400 miles (or money shifted it) and then dumped it at a dealership. No one here is buying these cars as investments (or at least they shouldn't be). I plan on putting so many miles on my CS, cause its so epic, it will never go up in value. You'll also need 5+ yrs to see these cars increase in value after a dip.

I think people who have lived with the car so far are trying to help people that may be on the fence get our perspective, which is that the car is vastly more enjoyable than an OG M2 or M2C, and at least in our eyes, worth the premium price. This car turns into more of an asset in my eyes after time, cause its hard to count the cars i would want more than it at any price point (supercars included).

My wife drives manual. It's nice not to have to worry about it.

Do you mean "damm I really hope I don't have to" plan on starting a family? or damm I really hope I don't have to sell in 2-3 years?

You don't have to do either, coz BMW was thinking about YOU when they decided to leave the back seat as it was

Really hope I don't have to sell 😂 I honestly can't get enough of it 400 miles in. Bout to take it on a nice long drive down to pebble beach tomorrow. And you're right those backseats are actually pretty decent/comfy.
