My car is almost here

Hey all,

So I am brand new to this and brand new to owning a BMW... I ordered a 335i coupe from the factory, and she is currently on the boat in transit to the US... I was wondering if ANYONE out there had gone through this process and if there was anything I should know...

ALSO... What's up with breaking this engine in? Are there rules I need to follow, or will she come ready for me to "drive"??

Thanks in advance for your help...

You need to break in any car you drive. For most cars, that means, keep the engine RPM's below 4k for the first few thousand miles. I don't know what the manual says, but follow that.

You can still have a lot of fun in the curves---no need to red line the engine.

Natural deceleration under 5K RPM is good for break-in. To each is own but I did 1000 Km of break-in, changed the oil and took it to the track after that.
