Dealership used 0W20 oil instead of 0W30

Hi all. Posting for a buddy of mine. He has an early 2020 M2C. Since his service warranty just ended we were looking for proper oil to buy for the next oil change.

In looking through the last 4 oil service receipts from the dealership, we noticed that the 2nd and 3rd oil changed used was 0W20. The most recent one was 0W30.

Says he never bothered to checked since he just took it to the dealer. I figured I would ask here for opinions or on whether or not this is worth bringing up the dealer? Could this have messed up the engine for the long term?

He said the car has not had any issues since ownership so far.

Not a big deal. Car will run fine.. but if tracking or running the car hard then change oil. It’s like $60 to DIY an oil change.

These cars should be running 5w50 (in my opinion) for best engine performance/health.

You can try to work them for a warranty or note it in case you have some issue which you could ostensibly blame on the oil. There won't be an immediate issue though, just possibly increased wear.
