Stock 437M or 19x9.5/19x10.5 Apex EC7 at the track?

What would you chose and why:

I picked up a set of Firehawk Indy 500s for the track and I have PSSs - both sets in stock sizes)

Trying to decide which rims to use for track and which to use for street.

I have the Indys currently mounted on the 437Ms for track use and the PSS on the wider Apex rims.

My thinking was the forged 437Ms are stronger and lighter (by 1lb/wheel) and I didn't want to 'stretch' a tire for track use. Plus the PSSs were already mounted on the Apex rims.

Then I saw a tire rack test video talking about the advantages of 'Wheel Support' of wider rims. I also found my set up had squishier transitions than expected at the track a few days ago. I'd heard that the Indys had stronger sidewalls and was expecting them to be sharper, I guess (tire pressures?).

Do I/Can I switch the Indys to the wider Apex rims for track use and go PSS with 437Ms for street?

I also happen to prefer the look of the stock rims too (car is alpine white and I like the contrast better), but I want to keep things safest at the track.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I’d put the PSS on the wider wheels. More wheel width is more grip. And the PSS are gonna hold up better to track duty.

I run the same Apex setup you listed with PS4S 255/275 and am impressed with performance on track. Weight wise, my internet searching actually tells me the slightly wider Apex wheels are 0.7lbs lighter as a set.
