If you've noticed on this thread, that setting is visible for some but not for others. It seems you could do it on the earlier cars but not on more recent ones like my week 5 2017. I figure the new software brought you up to the level of the newer cars.....and this setting went away with that update.

It kind of blows. I'd like to have mine @ 4 or 5, but the option simply isn't there. Maybe it'll return on a future update from BMW. Who knows?

Thanks, that is what I kind of figured. I had been through the post but could not find it again and didn't feel like scrolling through 57 pages. I was so used to having 5 blinks that going back to 3 is strange.

It's an M2. Why is it taking you 5 blinks to change lanes?!?

Just noticed that after coding my LCI with Android I lost the ability to adjust the cluster brightness?
It changes according to lights on/off, but the brightness scroll thingy to the left of the steering only works on ambient lights now.
Any solution?

Just tired myself and I get the same thing... not that I've tried it before coding, didn't even notice that dial before reading this!

Mine was already at 2100 as well. 2017 M2 from the USA. Newest ISTEP though so maybe that was a change they made.

The angel eyes are LED's, and LED's don't emit heat so that wouldn't happen. You're not shortening the life of anything. Those LED's will outlast the life of the car, guaranteed. The reason they're not at 100% at night from factory is for legal reasons, not hardware related reasons.

The LED's themselves don't emit too much heat but there's still lifespan concerns on them, as well as the LED drivers that produce the most heat. Personally I found 100% WAY TOO bright in the nightime, so I stuck with 50%

Was driving at night yesterday and played with it again, this time the dimmer worked. I have to give it another shot at daytime to identify if this passed by, or the issue only occurs during daylight/headlights off

Tried this AM, the dial works when headlights are on. I toggle lights off, and it doesn't change anything. Maybe this is normal behavior? I guess during the day, you'd want it 100% brightness so you can still see the dash with sunlight. Don't think BMW wants us to dim them and and it'll be like pre-LCI... can't read it lol

I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that I was able to control dim level prior to coding. It also seems that the brightness I'm getting is lower than before, too- which is exactly why I tried the dimmer, in order to make it brighter.

Guess I have to restore and test.

That’s exactly what I want to do haha + rev match.

I thought windows down/up already doing with the remote without coding. No?
I can’t test it because I just did the tint.

In Canada, the windows will go down, but not up

Saving Backups

If any of you wanted to save your backups or were switching from one iPhone to another iPhone, here's how, just figured this out:

1-Connect iPhone that has bimmercode to your computer and open iTunes
2-In iTunes, under your iPhone settings tab to the left click "File Sharing"
3-Click BimmerCode
4-Click Save to...
5-Save your backup to wherever you like
6-Connect your new phone, follow the same steps but instead of Save to...click Add...
7-Find your backup and it'll transfer it over to your new phone

Navigation not working after BimmerCode!

Help, someone please...

I tried my first coding with BimmerCode this morning. I tried to code out the legal disclaimer, but the coding failed during the update, and left my whole iDrive non-functional.

When I launched BimmerCode again, it offered to 'Restore' the head unit ECU, which I did, and this got back my iDriver, but my Navigation now comes up with a message saying "Connect USB device with correct activation code to start navigation." like this:

I was nervous to code at all, and just my luck, this happens!

Anyone have ANY idea how to fix this?
