Goodbye to M2
Sad to say goodbye to my '16 M2, although did so to make room for a '16 GT4. Didn't have intentions to trade, but a track buddy called with this gem and I answered.
Thanks to all who are part of this forum. Great intel and community! |

Gorgeous! This is exactly what I'll be looking for next year. Was gonna go with the gts 718, but I'm gonna wait a few months longer so I can jump up to the GT4. I just prefer them looks-wise more than anything.
And every time I drive my M2, I enjoy it so much. I can wait a bit Enjoy your new beauty!!

Quite the trade up! Love my M2 but the GT4 is definitely sports car hall of fame material!
Hope you enjoy it. |

Congrats, if the M2 had to go, it was replaced by a legit upgrade!

Nice. Congrats. If you can lower yourself to contributing to a BMW forum again, I'd love to read your impressions of the GT4 after owning it for a few months.

Will do, although the GT4 isn't/won't be my DD. I've driven this particular GT4 a couple of times before the opportunity to buy it. The seller is a track buddy I've known for years and lives close by. It's an amazing car; handling, power, gearbox, power, sound, et al. I'm incredibly fortunate to have it. My 'dream car' as a kid in the 80s was a 911 w/ a whale tail. While the GT4 isn't a 911, per se, it certainly fits the bill! I've really gone sour on the new 911. The rear is simply unattractive to me. That said, the Cayman GT4 truly is a dream car for me. |

By any chance is the seller a lawyer? If so, forgive me for forgetting his name. I only met him once during a track weekend at COTA. He gave me a ride during a session and holy cow what a machine, and he wasn't even pushing it.

What I'm reading so far on Rennlist is that the GT4 doesn't make for the best DD. I wouldn't be putting more than 8k miles a year on it, but I do want them to be comfortable miles. So, I'm still deciding between the GTS and the GT4. So any feedback is appreciated.

Congrats!
I’ve just move to M2 from a ‘14 cayman S. I decided to get one vehicle but it was sad to see the Cayman go. It was optioned perfect. Enjoy that GT4! |
