Brand New Ferodo Brake Pad DS3.12

Ferodo DS3.12

DS3.12 is a high-output, heavy duty circuit compound. It has been developed in testing in top-level GT racing and is suitable for larger and heavier non-formula cars on the track. It is superior to other Ferodo compounds both in friction coefficient and maintenance of its performance at very high temperatures. It has a predictable and constant friction output throughout its operating range, regardless of brake pressure. Its torque profile in the early stages of the brake event means it manages the introduction of ABS in a smooth manner.

The main characteristics of DS3.12 are:

• Highest friction coefficient and bite in the Ferodo Racing range
• Reproducible and stable performance up to 850°C under all pressure and speed conditions
• Excellent management of ABS during the brake event
• Longest pad life of Ferodo Racing range under heavy duty track use
• Recommended for track use on larger vehicles with ABS
• Recommended for sprint and medium duration races

We can use this for a track day pad with the stock M2Comp (US version) calipers? Whats rotor wear like?

When i ran really aggressive pads on my GTR, they performed awesome but ate rotors.

Yes, you can use these for the track and track only with M2C OE calipers.

On the track the rotor wear rate should be on par with the rest of the race pads.

Quick question on these. Are they available for OG M2 (stock blue calipers)? Also are these suitable for street tires, or more so for semi-slicks or slicks?

Thanks!

For the M2 model, this compound is not available yet. It shouldn't be much longer though.

These are track pads so they are better matched with semi-slicks or slicks.

Thanks. I plan on going to something like Bridgestone Potenza RE 71r as soon as the MPSS wear out, which should one or 2 more track days. I’ll keep an eye out for this pad.

They worked great with RE-71R’s.

Altho, with the amount of bite they have, I think you could still flat spot a 71R if you jammed on the brakes and let the ABS do all the work over uneven surfaces.

I was hitting the brakes hard and releasing slowly coming into the corner and releasing more if I felt ABS. I had consistent 1.00-1.01g under braking with the combo.
