When driving at cruising speed and lower RPM ranges the REMUS Exhaust provides a full, deep and throaty sound. No additional cabin noise and zero drone at all. You do get the expected crackles and pops during deceleration. Once you switch to Sport/Sport Plus mode, you are starting to enter BEAST MODE!!! The system comes to life and sounds like an entirely different car. A very smooth and refined sound note and as loud as you want to make it, really. Inside the car you hear all nuances of the sound while keeping the cabin noise at a minimum and still zero drone. That is the real beauty of the system - it is kind of Jekyll and Hyde and you can control that by the flick of the switch. This exhaust succeeded in providing an aggressive sound without ever being obnoxious or overpowering. Just a really true and clean sound that seems like it is made for this car. RemusUSA thanks for the collated post.
From the pictures it looks like the Remus joint to the mid pipe is stepped down from 76 to 70 mm so assuming this slides into the mid pipe. Is the expectation to cut a slit in the oem mid so the clamp can clamp properly to allow some squeeze when tightening? If Remus do release a mid pipe will it be 76mm and will we need to cut the Remus pipe to get rid of the 70mm restriction? What is the theory behind using the two exhaust chambers vs a single rear box? Thanks!!

Re: REMUS Exhaust BMW M2 Competition
@MR RIZK Thank you for reaching out. The pics are a bit deceiving. The REMUS diameter is actually 70MM and the stock 65MM.
I am attaching an image of the system installed on @SumBloodyGuy M2 Competition. He was kind enough to allow us to use his car for the first demo system installed here in the US and for video and promotion. For that we are extremely grateful as we could not have done all of this without him. You can see in the pictures that the REMUS is slightly larger in diameter and will slide over and clamp down with the supplied hardware onto the stock mid-pipe. The cuts are made right after the resonator and the outlet tubes slide over and clamp down onto the mid-pipe. The remaining axle back section is then installed. Once everything is lined up it is then tightened down. A mid pipe is in the works but I do not have any info on that currently. We have experimented with different set ups and designs over the years and we have found this set up provides all of the attributes we were looking for. Also fits nicely tucked in and out of the way unlike the monstrosity it replaces. Since it is just the axle back we wanted to be sure that we had enough sound and firepower. Many times the axle back on it's own is underwhelming. With this set up we found that not to be the case and you can really get the best of both worlds. In efficient and at idle you would not know there was an aftermarket exhaust installed as it is really tame. Now switch into Sport Plus and it is a whole different animal. There is a lot of flexibility and this set up allows for that. It really appeals to all types of drivers as the sound can be tailored to each drivers taste. It has just the right balance between deep/throaty sound at lower RPM's and an aggressive roar at excelleration and with valves open. |

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns. At the same time we are working on having a couple of forum members share their experience with the REMUS Exhaust that might be helpful as well. Stay tuned...

Hi
I am waiting for mine in EU, but did you try to take middle silencer/resonator off? I am asking because of drone... I am affraid when i get mine EU street legal remus exhaust, and we have stupid opf filter, that just axle back will not be as loud as we wanted, and maybe we will have to work on some modifications and easyest way is to put middle resonator off... |
