Much simpler solution. And NO it doesn't block air flow. $0.25. Two twisty ties.
I'm sure I'll get flamed but it works great.

That looks very close to the front bumper..
Worried that it could actually damage front bumper when washing the car with pressure water or strong windy day on highway....

Nice, Reed! Great that it fits in there without having to cut the plate (from what I can tell)

I'll have to try that out with mine in a few weeks.

sto n sho and skeen you gotta drill.....
I just used the 3m tape on Sto N Sho.... seems pretty sturdy... though I literally have never driven with the plate on. It's for emergency situations only, like if I get stopped by the popo.

Not bad - I did something similar to my old Miata, never had airflow issues w/that either.

It comes with two clear rubber "bumper" dots to put on the back of the license plate (you can see them in my profile photo), plus the angle and reach of the bracket are both adjustable, so you can position it out further than I have mine, but I figured it's safe from the wind with those rubber bits on the back of the plate. I'd probably take it off for a car wash - it's quick and easy to take on and off.

Thank you for ur kind explanation. I was told from my SA saying that they do have no-drill plate mount similar to this (which i do not have to pay). I will see what my car comes out and buy this one if necessary

Thanks again

I installed the Carbonio plate holder last night...really easy and was exactly what I was looking for. Quality product all around. Not suitable for automatic car wash which is not an issue for me since I always hand wash my car.

Parview BMW said that they carry Sto N Sho mount and told me to install this instead of conventional mount.
So I did check the youtube but all the installation video shows drilling on the front bumper underneath (which is not visible but still wish to avoid ANY DRILLING).

Did you get it done from Parview or any dealer? or DIY?

Can you share your mount and how it is taped??

It comes with tape on it, you just clean the surface with Icp Alcohol, let it dry, then stick it on there. That said I would probably get the Carbonio if I had to do it over again.

This option looks the goods for those that want to permanently mount their plate without drilling holes.

But does anyone have any suggestions for those (me who only want to quickly/easily throw the front plate on every now and then when parking in the city (to avoid tickets from meter maids?)

Suggestions appreciated!

Do you like the plate in the center or offset? Answer this question and you will know which to get.

Not blocking airflow with toehook, but looks odd to me offset.

To me offset always meant 'moded ' or even more than that it meant 'special' like hey this is an ///M not a 2er but at the same time it's a bit douchey. My wife said get the center one but if I listened to her on everything I wouldn't have an m2!

Really curious if this mount will crack the plastic grill where it is attached. I'm sure the grill will not take much stress.
I've had several mounts and recently went to Millworks. Innovative design and very well made. Highly recommended.

I mounted it myself, bought it on Amazon. It comes with 3M tape, very easy to install and holding strong. Centering it was the hardest part, I guess people are drilling it for extra security, I just check it once in a while to make sure its holding firm. The Carbonio looks good too, nice to have options and both can be removed quickly.
