Maybe I missed it but is there a direct M2 kit yet or are people still fitting m235I kits? Googled M2 eibach pro and nothing came up. Link to eibach M2 specific kit please.

They are now specific for M2, check the link right above. Although its for a UK auction the part number is for the correct car, you can search on those.

Eibach also has them on their site:

http://performance-suspension-eibach...-4-springs-388

Check if this link works, I'm on my cell phone.

So this links to a set and page that doesn't say anything about the M2, but it is for sure the right one?

I see what you say, but as long as it shows the part number ITEM # E10-20-035-01-22 you are good.

Most likely by an independent or failing that I have a tuning outfit near to where I live. I will get a geo done after however I have read that this kind of drop is within tolerances.

I've been considering lowering the car as stock seems to be just a bit too high. So it looks like eibach springs are the way to go? How much lower are you guys lowering it? Also are spacers necessary after the car is lowered? Also it looks like an alignment is necessary after all this is done?

I'm just trying to figure out all the steps and options coming from stock.

Eibachs lower the car about 1 inch all around, as this thread discusses. There is no adjustability--you would need a coilover kit for that. Also from this thread, the consensus seems to be that with either the Eibachs or the H&R springs (which lower the car closer to .8 in the front, 1.0 in the back), the best spacers for a flush look are 12mm in the front, 10mm in the back. Turner makes a good spacer, with an extended hub, that is on sale this coming week, in those widths.

What other benefits will a coilover kit come with besides any height adjustment? What brands you recommend for coilover? So springs are the cheapest way to go in terms of lowering the car but what is the ideal way?

Read this on coilovers v. springs:

http://www.aptuned.com/blog/coilover...ts-better.html

K&W, Dinan, MPerformance, Ohlin and a host of others make good coilover kits. Price independent, as the article explains coilovers are a better way to lower a car. But in my view, I wouldn't spend for those unless you are going to hit the track a bunch. If what you want instead is a little reduction in body roll and smaller gaps in the wheel wells, go with springs. H&R and Eibachs are both good bets, and much cheaper than coilover kits. Those who have tried both on this car seem to say Eibachs are less stiff, with about the same drop, but don't reduce roll as much. But if you are worried a lot about roll, you are likely a trackstar, and should go with coilovers anyway...

Would you recommend a camber kit with the springs?

Possibly. I'd install the springs, let them settle and decide whether you are close enough to spec or not. Again, though, if you are going to track the car a bunch, camber will more important than if you are not.

Plan is just to lower it. And not to affect the overall ride of the m2. Any suggestions?

Then I would stick with lowering it on Eibachs. From posts on this and other threads, that should have minimal, if not no, effect on ride. H&Rs are resportedly notiecably stiffer.

I am going with Eibachs, and nothing else, at least at first. For me, while I might take this car to my track now and then (probably will not be able to avoid the temptation even if I tried) I have another car that is my track machine.

I noticed on the article it mentions upgrading to performance shocks. Isn't the suspension of the m2 from the same as M3/M4 so by default they are already performance shocks or M performance shocks?

Also curious to see if camber kit is needed and I'll have to see based of people's experience with the car here.

Hey El Ban how are the the Eibach springs coming along after more miles on them? Did you need to add a camber kit and/or spacers? Also were the changes minor to suspension geometry before and after alignment?
