I looked up the kit. Couldn't find much info. Seems it's been out there for a long time, though.
Would like to know how is this better than, say, KW var 3, OEM MPerf Coilovers, AST 5100 or Ohlins R&R? I am interested in getting a more streetable car from my M2C. These seem to provide a moderate drop, they have proper protection for winter and all kinds of inclement weather. They have convenient access to rebound settings when the kit is installed, the height adjustability in the rear may be a pita, though, just looking at the pictures... Other than that, what is good about these? |

You can also get CSS/eibach combo - more details in this thread https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1582688

Eibach makes springs, ZF makes dampers. I don't think one is rebranding another (collab product, just like how Eibach offers a B12 kit and so does Bilstein where each of them makes half of it).

Sounds like that's the case. It looks like the same product. Wonder if it really is. More importantly, though, is what are the cons and pros on a M2/M2C car?

If you can find the TUV docs for the ZF/Sachs kit you should be able to compare it to Eibach's TUV doc for their version. If the spring dimensions are all the same it's very likely the same kit.

Sachs makes some OEM dampers for BMW and many other brands (plus a lot of other parts in BMWs), they are definitely a solid choice. |

I found installation instructions and TUV certificates for both kits (Sachs and Eibach). Looks to be exactly the same kit. Texts and even formatting are the same, almost word for word for both kits, same pictures except for spring colors, same dimensions and measurements, different part markings but otherwise identical both dampers and springs.
The Sachs kit's road worthiness certificate issued in 2016 but the Eibach's only on 23 May 2019. Last edited by x233; 09-10-2019 at 09:30 AM.. |
