How do we connect that fresh-air "window" in the front fender lining to the center of the rotor/hub so the brakes get the most benefit? Is there a shield or backing plate with a "window" where some form of flexible ducting could be used to connect the two? (Or fine as-is?)

I'll be fitting a backing plate solution to my 2020. Real easy to do with the ducting already in place in the bumper cover and wheel well liners.. Just need to work on how to hang the hose so there's enough room for the wheels to move lock to lock.
I've done this on a E36M3 a E46 M3 a EVOX and now the M2C. One of the biggest benefits is you get more life out of your front pads with the air being forced thru the rotors to pull the heat out of the pads faster. Your pedal feel and modulation stays consistent as well. This is worlds better than air scoops, etc... You do need to replace the hose every once in a while from rubbing in the wells. Minor inconvience. I wonder where we can get a backing plate that fits these hubs? HAZMAT

Any of you guys have a service manual for swapping the pads?
Have a lot of pad left but also two track days in the next few weeks and the course is hard on the brakes. Want to be sure I can pass tech or swap pads in a pinch if it comes to it. |

I'll probably do a couple of weekends at a COTA which is especially brutal on the brakes as you're bringing down a 3500 lbs car from decent speed as you enter 12. Heat is your enemy there as I learned by cooking a set of pads and rotors in 3 days in my GTR. Last edited by Malakas; 08-07-2019 at 10:10 AM.. |

I would think any of the minimalist M2/3/4 brake cooling backing plates would also work for the 2NH brakes as the mounting points will be the same.
As for connecting to the air outlets in the fender wells I am going to take some measurements this weekend and 3d print an adapter (or make a mold for CF ones). |

Going to angle it inwards more so there is more clearance. Need to check how close the tire gets to the duct. If it is too close I will flaten it and lengthen it backwards before going to the round outlet. The outlet is 2.5in. Last edited by Megator; 08-08-2019 at 03:11 AM.. Reason: Add Pics |

M2C 2NH and Specific Track Pad Models
Thanks for the great posts and replies. Very helpful. I have a 2021 M2 Competition with 2NH “M Sport Brake” with silver-colored calipers. I think that a few previous posts have said that the Pagid 4934 (front) and 1287 (back) track pads fit the 2NH. Do I have that right?
Any other track pads (other than OEM) you'd recommend front/back for the 2NH brakes? I ask because I found it a bit hard to find 2NH and specific pad make/models in the same post, from those of you that run them and know they work. Thanks. |

My rotors are finally worn out at about 25k miles on the car and 6 track days so i'll be switching to AP soon. IMO, at least use the fuck out of the stock system before you replace it. I've had a blast with them. I see a lot of guys out there with the stock rear and AP front to run 18" wheels. I also see people put the OG m2 front rotors on as well to accomplish that. It comes down to budget I guess. I'm very happy with the DS1.11 and ive heard the 3.12 has a lot of bite thats hard to manage.

Anybody else experiencing a lot of pad knock back with the 2NH brakes? Even if i take some corners on the street, it feels as if i need a quick touch of the brakes first before i have full clamping force.

Yes I get knock back every time on a little route near my house. A series of 90 degree turns with about 4 consecutive corners of chucking it in with no brakes, then into a fast straight section. First time I got to the end of the straight section I nearly crapped myself when I went to brake and the pedal was long. So now I've learnt to give it a quick pump before hitting the brakes.

Once my front discs are done I will swap the front oem kit out for an AP kit to run my 18inch wheels, even if its just for the weight loss of unsprung mass of the heavy Grey kit. |

Do think the 1.11 is a better overall choice though for a track day pad especially in the wet and/or with tires that are not very high grip. Excellent performance still and friendlier on the discs.

Good Ferodo pad comparison charts here: https://www.ferodoracing.com/product...ng-brake-pads/
Shows why DS2500 is a good street pad but not good track pad for our heavy cars, the range of the 1.11, why 3.12 is my personal go-to, and why I hated the Uno. |

Does anyone run the stock pads on the street and race pads on the track with any negative effects? Essex likes to say the DS2500 is a good starting point because they can be used on the street and if that's not enough, the 1.11 can be swapped out without much burnishing due to the similar compound.
Is that a legitimate issue? |

Another thing you'll want to watch out for is if the pads aren't exactly the same size from your street to track brand. That'll cause some uneven wear on the rotors, but hasn't been a show stopper for me. All in all, I wouldn't worry about it too much.
