There is a whole thread on it in one of the other categories:

Mine failed at about seven months in which sucks because I've had two other bmw's that were flawless. I'm getting it serviced today and have also managed to get more than a handful of videos of the hissing and random popping. It's only through the rear right speaker.
Which aftermarket amp did you get or are you looking at?

Got you. That is steep for the hardware. I guess it's nice to have options like Bavsound if we need a replacement when the warranty runs out.

I got the Bavsound amp. I'm pretty happy with it, sounds pretty decent with the stock speakers (not that my crap hearing could tell the difference...). I also have a brand new stock amp as a spare courtesy of the dealership, so I'm gonna call that a win.

Just got my car back from the dealer which cured my insane popping hissing from the speakers, only to realize there was a huge crack in the windshield under the wiper blade. After a few days of going back and forth and a surveillance review, one of the kids who was washing the car cracked it. After trying not to accept blame in the first place, the dealer is completely taking care of everything, along with the brand new ceramic tint I had installed on the car the day before taking it in, and fixing some serious scratches put on the car from the car wash. These are some of the things that just shouldn't even happen in the first place.
