Wow, I had no idea Macan Turbos were that quick. I’d love one as a second car but not at 50k.

Try $77k with zero add-ons.

Like I said in the original post, I was talking used. My Macan Turbo listed for $94k but got mine in the mid $60k range.

M2 vs Macan Turbo

The macan turbo is a better daily driver than the m2. They are very different but kind of similar at the same time. If you could have multiple cars the macan turbo would be my first choice as a daily, but as an only car I started to miss the driving experience of a manual transmission rwd 2 door coupe after 65,000 miles. At the same time there are things I miss about the macan as well.

Mine is CPO and I got 3 years 10 months on the warranty plus it’s unlimited miles on the CPO. I did pay a little more than $50k and mine is a 2017.

I had initially wanted to trade the 135is for an M2 but we needed something a bit larger. I was steered to the Macan and was really surprised where, I was somewhat disappointed in the M2, not because of the size but because how it drove and felt.

My wife’s Macan Turbo just had its 70k mile service. It’s been an absolute joy for her to use as a daily driver. I do get it on occasion. My wife would laugh out loud if I told her my M2 was on par or better than her Macan.

What really impressed me about the Macan is even at 70k miles, it’s just as tight as a brand new 2019. We had a 2019 as a loaner for a couple days. Usually there’s a rattle or hiccup somewhere that distinguishes between old & new. Not so in our case. We ordered ours and was the 2nd Turbo delivered in 2015. She’s spoiled for certain now though.

Maybe looking at a 2020 Cayenne S. The Cayenne Turbo Plain jane version is $135 ish. No one orders a Cayenne T without many of the goodies. More like $160 when done ✅ the must haves.

Even the Macan can get stupid pricy. My Turbo originally stickered for almost $95k. Fortunately I let the first owner pay that amount.

I love being able to modify the suspension, and going from regular to sport or sport plus. And that PDK is nothing short of magnificent. It really takes a great SUV/crossover and turns it into a spectacular one.

I actually had this same debate. The lack of a manual and the ugly array of buttons around the gear selector on the Macan did it for me.

Oh man, I love the buttons, like I’m in an aircraft lol. They look overwhelming but you quickly realize what’s going on.

I chose the Macan GTS (360 hp) over the Turbo. The GTS is the sweet spot and cheaper with every option including torque vectoring system. One hell of a vehicle. It should not be able to corner the way it does.

I agree. GTS is wonderful. I opted for the Turbo since they seem to have better CPO prices and GTS hold their values a little better. There are also fewer of them since Porsche started the Macan GTS run later in the model run.

One test drive in a new Macan S and my wife has completely lost interest in the M2C. I thought the M2 / M2C would be the logically choice since she loves her 2012 GTI Autobahn . I blame it on BMW I took my M5 in for service and they gave me a X3M40i to use and my wife really liked the drive ability, ease of getting in and out of, storage capacity, and more features inside. We are waiting for the new X3 M before deciding if the Macan will be her next vehicle.

The new dash layout on the Macan is nicer then the out going model.

The dash layout is a little better, but the new screen is what sets it apart. With that said, I made sure to get a 2017+ to ensure CarPlay was included (they don’t charge every year like BMW).

As I said in the X3/4M thread, if they existed when I was looking to replace my 135is, it would have been a difficult choice between an X4M and a Macan Turbo. I was really smitten with the X4 M40i but being used to the acceleration of my C7 and tuned 135is, I was wanting a bit more out of an SUV. I mean other than an insanely expensive yet lustfully sexy Lamborghini Urus, what else can you get....don’t say Mercedes GLC 63 AMG or Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk lol.

We traded my wife's 16 S in on the new 19 S. Yes the new dash is great but two other things stand out to me. The first was the exhaust. Even the sport exhaust on the 19 is quieter then the normal exhaust on the 16. The other is the torque delivery. They went to a single turbo this year and the new motor feels stouter at lower rpms. It's not a huge difference but it was something that I noticed right away. It's still an absolutely fantastic driving vehicle. We're taking it on a 2000 mile round trip vacation next week and I'm really looking forward to being behind the wheel.

I drove to Illinois from DC area and back and it’s the first time I drove that far, got out of a car and didn’t need Advil. Fast and comfy to the max.

I have owned the M2c for almost a year. The best M car I have ever owned.

But I started to think of changing it to used Macan GTS or X4M since I would need a towing vehicle to transport my 911 GT3 between racetracks.

I have not yet made a decision if I make the change in the end as I like the M2c so much.

Btw, do I understand it correctly that Macan GTS is a better handling car than Macan Turbo?
