I'd strongly prefer a manual over DCT, especially for a $7k discount, but the gearing on the 6sp is too short, especially for my commute (80% at 100km/h). Nudging 3000rpm in 6th at freeway speeds?? No deal.

I don't know why BMW didn't go with a 7 speed manual like Porsche and Corvette, especially for the new M3 and M4, if not the M2.
Probably too expensive to design and engineer for the new model. The MT is on its last gasps, it was a token effort. The MT is only for the 480hp models, don't think your going to see too many manual G8x around.

Grab a DCT whilst you can - they're dying too!

If you want the best M2C in Australia, it's here.

Probably better than a new one really. Not a single rattle. Not a single problem. Just perfect. One of the very first to land in Australia and it's one of those cars that came out of factory just right.

I'm sure the price is quite negotiable.

I'm only posting this as it was my trade on the CS and it would be lovely to go to an enthusiast. Obviously no financial interest etc. etc. etc.

I LOVED this car.

I used a broker and was able to get down to $102k base price in Dec 2020 here in VIC. Same price in NSW too.

MT, 2021 build, it's on the ship now

There's been 2 people I've seen post on here achieve sub 90k M2C purchases. Mine was just prior to COVID, but very long delivery with factory closures. Not here to brag, only to help others know what "might" be achievable. Drive-away + no trade, a few minor options (no roof or brakes) and 5hr/80 BSI. other guy said he was no trade too. Really doubt many could achieve this now with the overall supply shortages around.

Also, pensioner guards came off mine day 2. I wasn't a fan at all. Mine already had light marring from dirt / debris caught under the plastic rubbing on the clear coat on a brand new car. The reports of bad scratching underneath these on cars with just a few thousand Kay's I'd say has merit.

Hadn't heard about the clear coat marring. Interesting... Have to read up more on that before my upcoming delivery. I thought there was a bit of ppf beneath??

Will be interesting to see how Mercedes go in 2022 with their fixed online purchase pricing. BMW I'm sure will be following closely. In fact, the recently launched M5 CS was an online buy only for Australia and sold 15 of their 20 allocation at full rrp within 24 hours.

It definitely has a small strip of PPF underneath, but I would consider it to be pretty shitty quality PPF. The PPF layer was probably only about 5-6mm over the outside edge of my wheel arch, most of it was tucked around the lip and into the wheel arch. The plastic arch guard in my case was sitting well above the PPF underneath. Most of the marring was in this area (easily fixable though), but I also has marring to a lesser degree still under the PPF.

I did it all DIY, I know AUSf22 took his off too. Be interesting if his experience was the same as mine.

Might have to get used to paying rrp. Manufacturers are starting to head that way.
I don't like it, but I can see how it would upset customers who have paid close to rrp hearing about someone who got 25% off. Apple do it, Tesla as well with reasonable success.
If manufacturers price their product fairly it could work.

309k for the M5 CS - 75% sold in 24 hrs!

I was going to ppf the front end anyway, might just need to look closely at that area beforehand. Good info though, thanks.

Here, this piece is extremely stubborn as well with the residue it leaves behind. My car was just taken home and there was already light marring and dirt collected underneath.

You should consider ppf for the rear quarters also, my PPF there takes a hammering and the factory PPF piece is quite small

Damn! That's not too good given you're not even pushing the car

My car had 30kms when I took them off, others in Germany have reported that they removed it a bit too late with a few thousand kms of driving and the paint underneath required correction

Sooner the better in my opinion, you can always put them back on, ontop of the PPF which is a lot thicker and can act as the sacrificial layer between the arches and the paint

Found this one, maybe dif for MY21 if in fact there is a MY21. I know the US guys are saying that all CS cars are MY20, even though production ran into the first couple weeks of January this year.

Thanks John. Fine print at the bottom of the page shows that's from Sept 2018. Latest one I've seen is Feb 2020, and a bunch of cost options from 2018 (Car play, heated seats, wireless charging) have now all become standard.

Looking at some stock, it seems sun protection glass and perhaps jet black wheels may have also become standard vs ~$500 cost options last year.

Saw that a couple of weeks ago. Was one of the things that made me start looking again at an F87, vs waiting a couple of years.

Thanks. It's there as a downloadable PDF, not sure why you can't see it. Maybe someone more adept than me can help.
