This would eliminate the slight gap as pointed out in the quoted post.
Amazing that nobody has a reply to this question. Sure seems reasonable to me.

Just about to order the AP ones, and saw that post, making me wonder as well... definitely don't want any potential rust issues!

Had some Prodrive P1 mud flaps from my first Subaru STi V, which looked like an easy mod to fit the M2.
After some trimming on the inner edge and adding an additional hole in the flaps to match liner fixings, they came out pretty good, similar to TLG's.

I actually did this by mistake. I noticed they were a little flimsy when mounted over the fender liner. After removing them and placing them between the fender and liner I can say without a doubt it's more secure and looks cleaner.

Installed Automotive Passion Mudflaps

Just installed my automotive passion ones, the gap I was a little worried about it creating, since it slips between the liner, wasn't as bad as I thought... I almost just installed the front ones but glad I put the rear ones on as well, I think it looks better with front and back instead of just the fronts...

I was a little worried about the look, but they are pretty subtle and I am pleasantly surprised by how good they look.

Definitely happy with them so far and I think they could be money really well spent if they prevent anymore rock chips!

I've also went and tried this mudflaps also. It's pretty lowkey as it only goes up to the 1st rivet.

Do you like the low key look? I felt like it struck the right balance for me.

I ordered from the same guy. But on one of mine, I hit the curb (or something) and it broke. So definitely good enough but not sure if I would say completely sturdy.

I don't want to buy a truck . I PPF'd it but I was getting rock chips part way up my door where there's no PPF.

Maybe they look worse in pics but imo they don't look horrific

Have to agree that the bigger ones look a bit too mud flapish,,, Automotive passion for rears and Autotecknic for fronts are the best looking by a mile IMO and look like they could of came from the factory. After 6 months or so are doing the job preventing chips!

Yep, love my Autotecknic front set. It is definitely doing it's job, looks good, and is razor thin.

I cannot tell from the pic.
Did you tap a second screw in, like in the install video, to keep it secure and set how much of it you expose?

Since they were cheap, I bought a pair, but still humming and hawing about putting them on.

What about the ones they make for the front fender? Could you use it on the back as well. If it cuts down on the brake dust the would be awesome hock silver really shows the brake dust and dirt.

No I didn't tap in the 2nd screw yet. I just double sided tape the bottom for now just in case I didn't like the look. I just fitted it like how its supposed to mount. Didn't bother rotating it any further out. The one rivet seem to be holding strong as I been driving it on the highway.

I know what you mean about the design language... but I deemed it worth it. If I could go back I probably would have done more PPF forsure.

I think my original pictures posted, the close up of the front ones make them look worse... when you stand back they don't look quite so obvious.

I bought these from CADMotorsports as well and saw the video about drilling a screw into the lower side skirt, so held off on installing as I dont want to do that. Seems like the tape will hold so will install it with it + 1 rivet

Just get paint correction done now and then if bothered?

These look like total a$$ to me. I wish they didn't as I'd then fit some!
