That is a bummer. Mine still says "awaiting carrier assignment." Has been that status for 2 weeks now. So weird

I cannot believe the U.S. guys are still waiting to take delivery of a 20' F87 CS . . . Just get a G80 or G82 at this point. Enjoy it for a year, or two, then get the G87 M2C.

Yea l. Don't know what's more unappealing, the G80 part of the G87 part.

The acceleration video posted recently is my case in point about this being a happy medium for me. The GTS clearly transmits more noise and vibration to the cockpit. Pleasing sound and more feel to the driver. The CS was much more muted. I think the CS is on the border of becoming too muted (G87). Then all you have is an Audi. Super capable, but not necessarily the most fun. If the cabin is super nice though, then maybe the tradeoff is worth it. |

I have not driven a G80 or G82 yet nor, obviously, a G87. That said . . . 1. I really like my F87 M2C. Great car!!!! 2. I am going all-in on the G80 M3C. Will get first chassis build at my dealership once allocated by BMW. . . I will not own the F87 and G80 simultaneously. As you know I already learned that lesson with the M2C and 718 CGTS. 3. I think the G87 is going take the F87 to the next level in all regards, starting with the S58 and going from there. By the time the G87 is available I will have had the G80 for a year, or so, and will decide if I want to to move into the G87? My suspicion is I won't be able to resist the G87, just as I could not resist the F87. ///AVM |

My point was that when someone wants an F87 it's very possible they actually just want that. Many BMW drivers just want the latest and fastest car because status. But some just know what they want. It's like going out for Kobe beef burgers and truffle fries, but the kitchen brings out filet mignon and au gratin potatoes. Awesome food but not what I wanted. I'll definitely be interested in a G80, maybe a few years from now. And I'll probably appreciate the G87. But I'll leave everyone with this....E46>*. Lol |

I hear each of you and my comments are by no means intended to disparage the F87 . . . M2C has been a great ride. I enjoy it every time I drive it.
With that out of the way - as JCZ5 is known to state - cars are just disposable motorized appliances. The F87 is at the end of its lifecycle. It has been a good model, but technology moves on and the G8X is upon us. Just as I have no nostalgia about outdated appliances such as the 1M, I can assure you my interest in the G80/82/87 are far from 'status' related. . . At any rate, it is not as though the F87 is obsolete, and I hope you each enjoy your CS for as long as you set out to do so. . . and, of course, once it actually ever arrives. ///AVM Last edited by ///AVM; 10-25-2020 at 02:47 PM.. |

2. Actually preferred the F87 to my Porsche . . . and sold the latter in favor of the former. 3. It is almost 2021 and BMW’s release of G8X models is about to hit full stride. 4. I never shit on BMW, fellow BMW enthusiasts or the 2020 F87 CS . . . I simply suggested the overwhelming delay in U.S. delivery of the F87 CS might prompt favor with the newer BMW (G8X) models becoming available. If not, that is cool . . . enjoy! ///AVM |

After all the conversations previous on here with you, I am really shocked by this. A G80 M3C with options is going to push north of 80K. It's 12" longer than an F87, and well over 500 lbs heavier. After all your comments about the F87 being too heavy to be a sports car, the CS too expensive, etc I'm not understanding the draw for you here. No manual transmission, huge car, under-tired, and heavy. M has never been more GT than these new cars.

Cannot argue with anything you stated . . . my interests evolve. I love Porsche sport cars. Experienced them and will go back to them someday. Right now, however, I am really enjoying the BMW sporty coupe/sedan offerings. . . and want to continue to explore the models. Honestly, not a fan of the G80/82 front grilles and certain other design elements . . . yet, in some odd way, seeing the recent release of the G80/82 made the F87 seem 'tired' in appearance. Not going to say the F87 is 'ugly' or anything stupid . . . just that the new BMW design direction is making the old look tired. It is what it is. So, even though I have not fully embraced certain aesthetic elements of the G80, I do want to explore the M3C. As you state, it is big, heavy, under-tired . . . but my expectation is that it will be a great sporty sedan, just like the F87 M2C has been a great sporty coupe . . . when I am ready to get back into a sport car I know where to go to find one. Right now, BMW has my attention. ///AVM |

I realize nobody had any control over 2020, but I doubt many who were interested in the CS this time last year thought they would be still waiting for delivery of a 2020 F87 M2 CS? So, I basically inquired if anyone has considered and/or decided to go a different route in the BMW lineup given the release of the G80/82 and, before you know it, the G87? If not, that is cool. Stick with your initial intentions . . . it is not me dissing the F87 that I have enjoyed immensely. ///AVM |
