THIS ! Sold my 2019 M2C and that's why I ordered my CS in DCT.

BMW should be embarrassed about putting out a manual gearbox like this.

As an engineer, though not mech, I would love to know what they specify or do to achieve this on so many different gearboxes, even from different vendors. The ZF in the Z4M is even worse going into 2nd than most of the Getrags in the other M cars. Almost seems like it must be drivetrain, ratio, or mount related.

I don't think you can compare the market of M3/M4 CS to M2 CS. The M2 CS has 3 big features that differentiate it...Merino Lther, CF roof and adjustable suspension. These are very hard to add in aftermarket...the CF roof is available but who wants to replace their roof and hope there are no addl creaks, etc. There were no substantial differences from the M3/M4 CS over the M3/M4 competition that couldn't be purchased aftermarket.

You can't even do this actual roof aftermarket either. The aftermarket one is a "cap" to replace the steel piece, but the body bracing etc remains the same. This one actually gets rid of the side rails and all the steel components that were between the a-d pillar sections and it is tied with the carbon component instead.

I dont think it will depreciate yet. I saw in the UK used m2cs being sold £25k over sticker.
Im pretty sure flippers will be at work starting december.

Good stuff, I wonder how much meaningful rigidity this roof adds to the vehicle's overall dynamics..

I have an M3CS and while it did go for 15-30k below sticker. It's actually regained value now and selling used for the same price they were new with discount because there isn't many of them for sale now. I expect it to even gain more value with how disappointing the 2021 M3 and M4 for someone who's looking for performance.

The M2 CS will never be a 1M. IMO it will depreciate down to high 30s, low 40s over the next 5-10 years. I know that sounds bad, but that's exceptional in comparison to a 5 series costing just as much. It'll hold around there and then eventually shoot up in value somewhere around the 15-25 year mark. The M2 CS is an easy future classic but you'll have to wait over 20 years for that.

If you want your cars to be fun investments, don't buy new.
M4 CS was not limited. Where can you get an M3 CS half off?

I think everyone is missing that point and comparing it to the M3CS, which is rebounding now btw given the low numbers. The M2 is a more desirable car than the M3 period. Also, they were never made in the same quantities. I've been looking for M2C used and they haven't lost a lot of value. M2C also never sold for big discounts even if they sit on lots. M2CS will fair similar to the M2C just more exclusive. We'll see if it's going to be like the 1M, but if the new M2 took the same direction as the new M3 and M4, I expect the M2CS to be very desirable.

A lot of the M3CS are going to come off lease soon so we'll see what happens with the market

Well it's listed as a used car with over 1k miles. So I'd actually call that a mark up, not a discount.

Agreed. My hope is that it doesn't take a huge tank like the M3CS. I'm fine with it taking a depreciation curve more in line with the M2 and M2C.

Depends on your perspective. It's not even due it's running in service. There are three others currently advertised as used with c.100 miles for £93k, £89k & £85k.

That's actually the worst time to buy one. Here's a car that's almost due for its break-in service that you have no idea how it was treated for the first 1000 miles and you get to pay for the service. But you saved 320 quid off the MSRP!

Do they have to pay for the service? Isn't the 1200 mile break-in service covered by BMW? Or is that just a USA thing?

I'm pretty sure that is unique to BMWUSA.

A little rollover wear on the front tires, bits of rubber on the front bumper, looks like the first 1k miles were spent at the track. Means break-in wasn't done properly.

Some poor sap is going to offer less and get the car 1k off MSRP thinking they got a deal.

Doesn't the ECU limit the boost and rpms for the first whatever miles on these cars now? Warm up and rpms are the dangers in the earliest miles. Past that I'd honestly take a car that had its early miles on the track over ones on the highway. Varied pressures and rpms will have seated the rings better and have less likelihood of oil consumption.
