Winglets install
Anyone do this recently? Got mine 3 weeks ago and haven't taken the time to do it. It says you need a 6mm drill (5 holes) but I can't find any 6mm drill bits.
Did anyone just use self tapping screws? If so, which? -- I hate drilling holes in the car, so if I'm going to do it I'm just being extra precautious. Any feedback would be cool. Thanks.

I also got my pair of winglets in April and have not installed them yet, just because I don't want to drill those holes on my car. Regarding 6mm drill bits, simply search "6mm metric drill bits" or simply "6mm drill bits" on Amazon.

Really easy, I did it to my M2C back in April. The 6mm hole is slightly larger than the rivet stem so you can get away with either a 7/32 or 15/64 drill bit. I want to say I ended up using 15/64. I opted not to use Betalink but swapped for wider tape instead. Trick is to pull out at the rear end of the winglet when you position it with the adhesive tape before drilling. Wedging a microfiber cloth in that spot helps. You get a little bit of play even after putting in the 3 existing screws. The rivets hold on very tight and bring the winglet towards the body more. If you are too far in it might end up against the body or really close. Ended up with equal distance on both sides. Link to my previous post.

only thing i can add is do NOT use betalink. It's a PITA to clean up the surface If you ever want to remove it in the future. The double sided works just fine which is already pre-installed on the winglet then fasten it with rivets.

Install was easy, took about 20 minutes total. 15/64" is the equivalent for a 6mm bit. You're just drilling through some thin plastic, in my opinion, Betalink does way more damage than the holes if you ever take them off (or have them ripped off).

Got mine installed. Thanks for the help fellas. Drilling holes broke my heart but can’t see them down there and it’s just plastic. Plus I think these just belong on the car so I’ll pretend they were factory holes.
I’m not sure how you guys lined it up but I left a little bit of paint visible on the edge on both sides. I thought it looked cleaner that way so when looking at it head on the winglet contours to the body line but with some paint exposure on the end. I think l the contrast looked better and I can adjust down the road without new holes anyway Edit: well it lines up with the wheel arch but can see a bit of paint on the edge straight on it’s even on both Thoughts?
