I was about to get a quote today with the final price of my configuration , and our government closed down the car distributions and dealers ...Now my mind is on if the car will be sold out , because the dealerships will be opening in 4 weeks...So unlucky , hopefully will not be a sold out .

Has anyone seen a TRUE US allocation?
With so many from around the globe talking about there "allocations", I was wondering if anyone in US(or Canada) have seen a real allocation.
Please bring g "#1" at your dealership doesn't count. I'm talking about sitting down and ordering in the BMW system.

Learning from the past: back in 1918 patriotic parades were scheduled to be held in St. Louis and Philadelphia. Because of the Spanish flu pandemic, St. Louis canceled the event. Philadelphia decided to go ahead. The consequences: see here. |

This explains why Philadelphia surrounding areas are shutting down bars and restaurants. Lessons learned I suppose. Philly should be following suit...

Have not heard anything here. Rumors are US production not beginning until 3rd quarter which is July - September.
Someone on this board mentioned that the European cars needed to be produced by June 30 for emissions reasons which coincides with the US production starting in 3rd quarter (July). |

Nothing here and I checked in a couple weeks ago. I am #2 at a fairly large local dealer.
Decision to go ahead gets more difficult as this is now GT3 $ with used prices already sliding. I'm sure some of you saw the 991.1 GT3 RS that sold for $122k today on BaT. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...-911-gt3rs-22/ |

You are right. Assuming the car hits dealers in September or later, for deprecation purposes, you would want it to be listed as model year 2021. Because then if you go ahead and sell or trade the car in say 2023 or 2024, you would rather have a 2021 model year car as opposed to a 2020 car for trade in-value purposes.
