You'd think. Unfortunately with the virus scare going on all bets are off. France just closed down all restaurants, cinemas and cafés...can you imagine no cafés in France? Germany may not be far behind which could definitely affect car production.

Hard to say. they should have an allocation by now. Unless they are trying to shop it around, but I doubt it. Call the sales manager or the GM and see if they can help.

I've been told they are no US allocations yet. Is that not accurate info?

There are no US allocations yet for the M2CS I have a deposit at a dealer. They should come out to USA any month now.

Agree, from everything I've seen no US allocations yet. However I didn't know whether the dealer needed to tell BMW they wanted 1 or more, or just wait to be "invited" to take 1 or more?? Based on Euro-posters who said if you don't take your allotment it doesn't revert to the dealer, it goes back in the pool for some other requestor.

Some countries use the "Be The First" platform: a potential BMW customer makes a reservation through a dedicated "Be The First" BMW website before (and after) official release, subject to the payment of a refundable 'reservation fee'. If no deal materializes within a predefined period with the BMW dealer indicated by the customer, the slot goes back to BMW for redistribution.

It's a smart way to ensure that cars are sold (instead of sitting unsold on dealer's lots), to test the waters (check demand), limiting coin-flipper practices, and to create some sort of hype of exclusivity/privilege.

Belgium and Luxembourg: 131 M2 CS cars. Not quite a sales hit, 10% discounts possible, struggling since several months to drag itself to 'sold out'. Main reasons: too expensive for a BMW 2-Series + existence and pricing/discounts of the M2 Competition.

But other sales techniques may apply elsewhere.

Same for Belgium and several other countries.

If you manage to visit Germany despite the travel ban (that could be extended): currrently, Germany expects 60% to 70% of its population to get infected with the coronavirus. That's about 50 to 58 million Germans. Not my words or those of some fake news website, but those of the widely respected #1 politician of Germany, informing her population in her genuine, composed, hallmark no-nonsense style (see here). Earlier this week I heard from a Parisian acquaintance that Paris is expecting a 70% infection rate. And in Italy, the situation in hospitals in Lombardy appears to be outright dramatic. Same situation is developing in several hospitals in Spain.

It won't take long before the US grasps - at last - the magnitude of the catastrophic situation. All it will take is just a reality-check, true facts knocking some sense into people's minds: people getting sick and people dying. Things may seriously spiral out of control if folks remain in a state of (partial) denial.

All schools are closed in North Carolina for at least the next two weeks. Students at major universities have been kicked out of the dorms and classes are now remote. Businesses are going to a skeleton crew and rotating staff remotely. Interesting times

Perhaps the pandemic will free up some M2 CS slots if Leipzig can actually get them built ..

sorry, but a dose of morbid humor might just be required in times such as these. Stay safe all, wherever you are.

Sometimes reality surpasses fiction. In neuroscience, the basal ganglia are referred to as 'the reptilian or primal brain', as this structure is in control of our innate and automatic self-preserving behavior patterns, which ensure our survival and that of our species. Three examples resulting from the current coronavirus crisis: here, here and here...

The CS and other vehicles delivered this year will most certainly be the most disinfected, antiseptic vehicles one could hope for. A new new-car smell!

The M2CS is made on the same line as the M2C.

Even the dealerships are closed. In here , Cyprus - Europe , they are closed atm , and i am waiting to learn the final price - im selling to them my OG M2 , and i m waiting for the price difference , and then if there is a free allocation , no M2cs is sold in here , im in the first slot . But again , they have to open first.

Did the distributions closed down in other countries as well?

As commented earlier, 131 M2 CS allocated to Belgium and Luxembourg (initially 45, subsequently 100, but no price was known yet back then). Reservation possible since late September 2019 - orders since November 2019 release (base-price was set at €96.5K). Discounts of 10% possible.

Fast forward to today (half year later - start of production): got a heads-up that dealers are still approaching current ///M owners querying whether still interested to get one of the available M2 CS slots.

So, not sold out yet over here.

But isn't this simply a massive overallocation to a tiny market? Someone really screwed up. Maybe Madagascar is getting a 100 too? Could be some nice discounts there as well.

Plenty of encouraging drugs going into trials around the world. The California university system also has some showing clear efficacy. Key is to get them through safety trials as quickly as possible. Then we can get back to more important things like deciding on whether to get CCB or not
