G87 CS is going to be a beast. BMW did a nice job tuning the S58 to handle the added weight and give the new platform the edge in a straight line.

Each generation should generally outgun the previous so not surprised there. But at the end of the day, seat of the pants fun is more important to me than the numbers.

I assume this means auto vs auto the G87 is going to have an edge. The 6MT + S58 combo is not great it seems from other videos and tests.

Results are par for the course. The G87 outperformance doesn't come close to offsetting the design vs CS. All I got from this video was how much bigger the G87 appears to be.

G87 crowd are very odd. Sort of Tesla level odd.
It’s a highly capable car. Not my cup of tea, but I can see the appeal for many. Same as the other G8x series. I’ve always said most would prefer it ever since I drove the G82 Comp. Maybe I’m a weirdo but I just like the feels. That X factor the F87 CS delivers. That’s the bit that’s missing. |

I still haven’t driven one, but I like it overall especially in 6MT spec. The weight is a bummer, but BMW seems to have figured out how to manage it.
I wouldn’t trade my CS, but I would definitely consider it if I was looking for something fun in the $70K range. |

The 500HP +/- realm seems to be a nice place to be. Feels like it has plenty of power. Won't disappoint for casual track days. Fun on the highway. I've had higher HP and lower. Once you get above this it seems like the power doesn't get used as much. I know some will say that slow cars are fun too. And I agree, but it usually takes a car that's way too much to appreciate how much fun a slower car can be. My 2 cents.
