I do think you get a far better perspective of your car when you own a few nice ones and rotate them. You appreciate the specialness each one has. If you drive the same car each day you just get too used to that car and it somehow feels less special, no matter what it is.
Good point about when you have more than one choice that it does make each one feel a little more special. The saying: "absence does make the heart grow fonder" is true. All of these subjective arguments over which car is better than the other can get ridiculous quickly. Most top tier enthusiasts cars provide unique driving experiences. Each one is a little different and personal preference can dictate which is best.

My CS is an amazing car and very special but I wouldn't want to drive it every time I need to go somewhere. Sometimes the mood is more chill and I don't want all the feedback. Same debate (that drives me crazy) about the GT3 being better than the Turbo S. It's better at some things and worse at others. The cars were designed to have completely different objectives.

I have never owned a P-car but always liked the 911. Came close once. 997 was sold by the dealer the day I went to negotiate for it, ended up buying an e92 M3 which I still own. 40K miles of fun. On a dubious list with a deposit for a 992 GT3, but given the current situation with Porsche, not certain that will ever materialize. I still would not sell the CS for it unless the value keeps increasing.

If anybody has a good P-car dealer relationship to put me on a transparent 992 GT3 or GTS list (deposit is not an issue), let me know please.

This is the car I owned before my M2c and now M2cs. I love my cs and will likely never sell it, but a strong argument could be made that I made a mistake selling. In this case the grass might have simply been a different shade of green. Both shades were quite spectacular...

Damn man. Feel your pain on that one.

I’ve been running around with a friends E92 with full exhaust and I totally get it. Can’t imagine that sound, AND the power from some boost.

Gorgeous.

I also am lucky enough to have another car with a manual, naturally aspirated V8, hydraulic steering, no electronic aids with the gearbox. It's the perfect complement to the CS. Such a different driving experience. One isn't better than the other but having both makes you love each car more.

I will likely add and E9x M3 in the near future. While they are not "fast" by today's standards, they have a soul that only a few cars have. If you have driven one you know. The spec sheet cannot convey this.

Side note, the M2c/cs have that intangible feeling as well. While the sound in stock form can't rival the S65, the driving dynamics exceeds it.

Correct. Or try a BMW 2002, tii or non tii. Or almost any air cooled Porsche. This is exactly how they feel. Not fast but my God, the soul of these cars is palpable.

I think soul is the essence of a great car.

I read a post here a while ago (M3 section) that really struck a chord with me.

"A cars performance makes you buy it, a cars soul makes you keep it..."

For me this applies to my 6th gen 1LE and my E92, however I did not keep it. I do not miss the 1LE even though objectively and dynamically the car was astonishingly good (dare I say great), I bought it because of the performance envelope. My ESS E92 tickled every part on me and made an impression that I cannot shake.

I completely understand. My 78 911 is like that for me. I'm never selling that car. Ever.

The e92 indeed has a unique soul. Will never be another m3 like it again. I just went from an f82 stage 1 with m performance exhaust for just over 4 years to an f87 cs. The steering feel alone is miles better. I had the gts flash on the m4 but it still has the dead zone to some degree. In terms of suspension, I was running Bilstein b16d on the m4 so this is definitely more compliant. The cs came with kw has which I'm enjoying for now. I actually like the cs exhaust tone (no burbles) but it's extremely tame compared to the m performance. Getting the full AA signature tomorrow 🔥 🤗

I read the post you shared. Respect to the P community and the members on that forum. A few tossers - though pulled into line quickly.
What does EOI stand for? Trying to get a GT4 allocation or a 992.2 911 allocation myself.

Expression of interest (it's not a binding contract but gives a chance to put your name down if and when there are enough stock)
