" lazy" means less manufacturing and design expenses for BMW AG and a lower price for the customer.

It's a perfect area to be " lazy" because buyers that don't like the stock wheels will be accessorizing their cars with aftermarket wheels before they even get the car. So why should BMW waste time and money here ?

As Spock would say , the decision to spread the expenses across multiple models was merely " logical "

"... You may find that having is not so pleasing a thing after all as wanting. This is not logical, but it is often true."

The camo on the rear makes the tail lights look huuuuuge. That's probably been my only gripe with the 2 series design in general.

I was told by my dealer today that it's entirely possible to get other colors if you really want but prepare to pay out the ass for it.
I challenged him on this based on what I've read about it here but even so he stated special requests can be submitted. He said if approved, it may take a while for the build & cost $8 grand or more. There was a green 1M produced by the factory at one point so who knows, maybe it is possible...

Dunno about you guys, but I think the 18's will look super cool on the M2 with a drop and spacers.

And as Yeineken said, these too.

Anything is possible, but I wouldn't get too excited about what one individual dealer rep says. All you have to do is look at the 1M forums and you will see how little info dealers had on that car as it came out. There's likely more knowledge about this car in this forum than what the average dealer rep knows..

Yes. There were a handful of 1M made in custom colors and it's my understanding that ZERO were US cars.

I also haven't seen any individual with one of those custom colors pop up on a forum either (read: more than likely they aren't an average Bmw owner ). By that I mean, a wealthy sheik in Dubai might get this done, or perhaps Alex Rodriguez, but not just " Joe wealthy customer " that thinks he can get what he wants by offering to write a Bigger Check.

I can definitely tell you that BMW has a tiering system when it comes to special requests. This is per my own phone conversation with BMW M Brand manager Matt Russell. When I was looking for a 1M.. he told me directly that he could not steer a car towards anywhere during 1M production unless it was a Tier X level.... And any request from a normal buyer would be Tier One. I am paraphrasing.. but a Tier 2-3 level request would be from someone famous for example.. and he advised inventory was so tight that he couldn't even do it for " average famous guy".

My Best recommendation is to look at what vehicles come out of the factory in Leipzig and see if those vehicles are available for individual program.

I ain't hatin tho.. Go ahead and put in your special request and a 15k deposit.... if it works for you then Awesome!
Just don't be surprised when both are returned.

Like many others, I think these pictures have me set on LBB. It looks a bit darker in these pics than on the X5/X6, which pushes it in the right direction for me.

Tired of seeing all those private events when in fact, the only time they show the cars in advance are in Munich, in a secure space.

then when you see pics in lighting it will probably pull you the other direction, im in a similar boat, these pics have changed my opinion on the color but this is such a moody color and the color we are seeing now is when its in a good mood

There was no private reveal at Frankfurt. That's just Scott's fantasy.
How the hell do you know what happened in private?

Agree.
Lacks that heavenly turquoise hue evident in X5/X6 pictures.

Long Beach Blue is nice.

But then I see an ///M sibling in Mineral Grey, imagine how that would sport an M2 and ...*BAM*, still my personal preference.

Can't touch this - Stop - Hammer time.
