Bought another car
Now I own 4. Well. This is more for my son to drive and then my daughter too.
Test drive VW Polo, Kia Stonic and Suzuki Swift Sport. One of them was so far ahead of the others that it wasn’t even fair. Verdicts. Polo. Perfect car for an older lady. I felt all joy being drained from my life as I drove it. The seat gave me significant backache in 30 minutes. The DSG was horrendous. Stonic. Pretty decent. Doesn’t know whether it is an SUV or a hatch. Way more fun than Polo. I could just about live with this one. Also a DCT but sadly no paddles. Swift Sport. What a thing. It only weighs 990kg (2180lbs). Quirky JDM style and interior. I think only Japan, Australia and NZ get this model. Uk gets some sort of hybrid. Seats were incredibly good. I love it. It’s an auto but surprisingly good and quick with the paddles (0-100kmh 6.1s). Much better than the Polo DSG plus you get the benefit of no brain traffic driving when required. Like a little go kart. |

I bought a new, 5 speed Ford Focus in 2006 for the kids. Each one "owned" it as the other left for college/job/moved. It ended up in my driveway after about 10-12 years and then I beat the living daylights out of it for a while. When i told them I was selling it, my son stepped up and took it off my hands as his 3rd car. It's got 160K on it with the original clutch, looks like hell and just won't die. Hysterical.

thats what I am going to rent at the nurgburgring this summer, a swift (maybe not same model as this), it will be the perfect car for someone who has never been out there.
Suzuki is killing it, too bad nothing they make comes here to the US. I was just in the cayman island and there were tons of Jimnys, wish I could get one here. |

You don’t want a jimmy, all it takes is a 5 minute drive.
I thought they were neat so I ordered one. How much better could it be than the Santana 109 we needed to replace? Surely anything is better than a poorly slapped together version of a poorly designed and built British car right? It has been a nightmare. Leaks oil, electric issues, window issues. No one wants to use it. It really shocked me because I remember Suzuki fondly but never again. |

Looks like a fun little car, especially at that sub-1t weight. Although a Swift Sport isn't that quick 0-100kmh. I think they're more in the 7s (fuel economy is probably in the 6s though!).
By the time my kids are of a driving age they probably would rather a self-driving car, so enjoy the fun. |
