Wheel Brush setup

Can anyone share their wheel brush setup for these CS wheels? My wheels are coated, but these wheels are a nightmare to keep clean between the increased brake dust and lack of clearance between rotors and barrel.

The area of the barrel behind the 2NH/2NK caliper is in “mm” and no brush will clean that area unfortunately. I have the stock 437m wheels 19” all around with the 2NH BBK. The CS wheels (763m are pretty much the same offsets). You should have some luck with spraying product behind there as best as you can and pressure wash behind the caliper to get the brake dust removed.

Below are some of the wheel brushes/mitts/tire brushes I use and have had success with, along with alternatives.

1. Wheel Brushes:
a) EZ Detail Large Brush - works well for wheel barrel and front fender wells (the more you use them the softer the bristles become)

b) EZ Detail Short Brush - works great for the rear fender wells and the exhaust tips

c) Microfiber Madness Incredibrush Flat - this is my favorite brush - it’s very plush microfiber/viscose material and incredibly durable. I have had this brush for 5+ years and it looks brand new. You must get the “flat”’version if you choose this brush. It may catch the brake disc shield of the front wheels but it will do the job.

2 alternative brushes to the Microfiber Madness are:

- Detail Factory Wheel Cleaning Brush (comes with two covers - one of them appears too abrasive)

- Autofiber Barrel Blade (I think this brush is flatter than the Microfiber Madness Incredibrush Flat wheel brush)

In summary - I would get the EZ Detail Large/Short brushes in addition to a more plush/delicate wheel brush from any of the 3 above.

2. Mitts for the wheel faces/behind the spokes:
Lamb skin or microfiber - whichever you prefer

a) lamb skin wheel mitt - if you wash your car once a week these will last 6-9 months before you probably need to replace them

b) microfiber mitt - more durable and machine washable

3. Wheel crevices/lug bolts/calipers:
Synthetic or Boars Hair - whichever you prefer. I have tried Detail Factory and WorkStuff Brushes

4. Tire Brush: Detail Factory Tire Brush

Hope this helps

I don't use a brush, I use a Cyclone wheel mitt from TRC and small microfiber towels. I also use DIY Detail Rinseless because surfactant rinseless washes like this and N914 will actually release all the brake dust from the wash media easily. I just find it easier to get all the spots with my hand than with brushes.
