Insurance
I just looked up my insurance for the M2 CS and am paying just shy of $2K per year. I have zero accidents or tickets and am a senior. My car is garaged full time in the suburbs and i drive only a few miles per year.
Seems awfully high to me.

Having that said, for winter. I plan to drop collision coverage since I won’t be driving it. |

I'm paying $117/month | $1404/year with full coverage. Car is also garage and not a DD and I asked the Insurance company to set the car be driven under 3k/year. I also have insurance bundle multiple discount rate which also includes my home. Saw the premiums go down to each car insured.
The funny thing is that my EV standard model 3 cost $20 more to insure than the M2cs which cost over double.

Yea I have no idea why it's so expensive. That also threw me a curve-ball. My C63 costs less than half the M2CS. I also had an M3CX for a few months (MSRP: $102K) and it was about $150 cheaper than the M2CS. No idea what the insurance are valuing the CS but it's gotta be pretty darn high.

Rates are going up rapidly for all cars across the board. It’s regulated by state, so some move faster than others.
Vehicle inflation, parts inflation, labor inflation, and increase in auto theft are all part of the problem. Lawyers on billboards and commercials promising to get you money for your accident is a factor too (chiropractor fraud). Anyway, I pay $2,200 per year for $250/500K BI, UIM. $90,000 “guaranteed value” with Hagerty on the CS. My other 3 cars are less expensive but still cost about $6K per year in addition. FL insurance is out of control, but the rates are justified. I’m in the business and these companies aren’t making huge profits, in fact a lot are in the red. I may move my CS out of Hagerty because I should be able to save a little with 4 cars on one policy. |

mine is just a C and insurance is way too expensive, specially for how little I use it. For 300/300 with 500 deductible its 150 month (less than 5k year miles, including glass). I am in NY which is known for being expensive for insurance so its hard to compare prices because insurances are just much cheaper in some areas.
I really want to find a cheaper insurance since I drive the car seldomly and usually just to the track, I looked into mile based insurance but they require you install a tracker and I am good on that, no thanks. Specially since they will track speed and when they see 130 at the track they are not going to like that. |

Zip codes certainly matter, but my rates for the same set of cars increased 30% when I lived from Maine to eastern Washington state in 2008, so I am definitely not in the cheapest zip code for what that’s worth 15 years down the road….
I am 50, no accidents, no tickets, wife’s stats are the same and we also unsure our house with Farmers which gives a discount. My total insurance is $2800/year for full coverage on 5 vehicles: 2021 Wrangler Ribicon 4xe, 2020 M2cs, 2017 Subaru Crosstrek, 2011 1M, 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax. Looking at the individual vehicles, the 2008 GMC is the most expensive premium.

I have a 98 Toyota Supra, a 2020 M2CS, a 2023 M4CSL, a 2006 Honda Civic, and a 2008 Toyota Crown under insurance and pay AUD$11,000 a year which is like USD$7000 - and that's with impeccable driving history and no at-fault claims I'm allowed to do 600 miles in the Supra and the CS - 120 miles in the CSL per year only I live in the wrong country

^ yeah that's the thing. No mileage restriction indicates you're driving the car daily.
I'm not in the insurance field nor I work for an insurance company, but what I've noticed for many years inorder to get your annual premiums down are: 1) Limited mileage driven each year 2) Change to a higher deductible. If any, they offer $1000 deductible for collision and comprehensive. Premiums are much lower over a $50 or even $250 deductible 3) Designated driver only like yourself and no others 4) Bundle your home insurance with multiple cars. Including your home gets huge discount. 5) Buy other insurance offered i.e. disability insurance, rent insurance, etc 6) Continue bugging your insurance agent for discounts

I paid 600/6 months on my CS with 250/500 bodily and 300 property coverage. 2k deductible for comp and collision. I just added my E92 M3 to the policy now and it's down to $515/6 months for each car now with same coverage on CS but comprehensive is $500 and collision is $1k on my M3 since that's what I'll be primarily driving now. Fyi I had 4 speeding tickets in 2021 and no current accidents on my insurance record

$339 a month (CAD) . There's only one, government run, insurance company in my province so no shopping around either. Was $280 a month last year and they raised it though I've had no dings on my record.

Time to find a good broker, never used one. I have been with State Farm for too long and am tired to pay for football QBs that I don’t even like. It has been a good insurance but I doubt I am getting a good rate, new customers typically get good deals it seems.

My x5,e, CS, 02 Xterra, and umbrella policy are $3650/yr with 1k deductible and high limits. Can't remember if it's 250/500 or 300/500. I think singing like that. I also have new car replacement riders on the CS and x5. As well as a little extra for my ppf and exhaust.

That's what I pay on my M2C. $1k deductibles/low miles driven annually/55 y/o driver, but I did have a speeding ticket (less than 10mph over) 2 yrs ago. Colorado rates are terrible though due to constant hail claims throughout state and we live in what is considered high fire danger area in foothills of Denver.

Looking for some suggestions on alternate company’s that have been good to work with.
Located in Michigan, m2cs, no marks on driving record. Multi policy discount. 6month renewal with progressive came back around $1600 for the cs (not including other cars, etc.). It’s been a mofo trying to get quotes since the vin on the cs is usually not recognised. |

$11,800 per year for my cars
2018 X2 2020 X5 2020 M2 CS 2024 VW GLI The CS is a separate policy with Hagerty and only a hundred bucks or so more than putting them all on my Farmers policy. I do have a 16 year old daughter on the X2 and my wife drives the X5. FL rates are also crazy. I’ve shopped everywhere and this is the best I can find. Highest limits but high deductibles, really good credit and clean driving, but I do have 2 windshield claims. They aren’t supposed to charge for those in FL, but my rate doubled in the last 2 years before I even added my daughter. She is roughly $4K of the $11.8K to be added as a driver. |
