Thanks for the information, yes, the spread is at at an alarming rate and I think that's what scare people the most.
Although, from what I learn, it's mostly lethal to those with a weaker immune system i.e. older to sicker host, which gives some hope that most will have a strong enough immunity to the virus.
Hopefully, a vaccine is tested and approved real soon. I understand it takes awhile because it's at this point, it's basically a mule. Whatever they brewed up needs to be tested on field hosts, to ensure or point out any side-effects, on a longer term.

That doesn't mean those that are young or healthy don't have any risk. Sure it's much lower, but that's missing the point entirely. Current rates for young adults needing medical attention is higher than China. For young adults aged 20-44, 20% require hospitalization and 12% require intensive care. If you end up in ICU you're in REALLY rough shape and it's where most patients end up dying. Everyone regardless of age has a social responsibility to help out, not be part of the problem. We are at war with an invisible enemy that doesn't care what age you are, what your social status is, what country you're from, what race you are or what party affiliation if any you have. It's an equal opportunity killer and/or bringer of social, economical and physical long lasting pain and hardship.

A vaccine is at least a year out and that's best case. This is why the entire world is shutting down, people do not have any immunity to this new virus. Hospitals will quickly become overwhelmed, people will start dying in massive numbers everywhere. Here's a thought exercise... You're young and health, you're not scared of this so why should you care? Let's say this person is also very callous. They don't care if massive amounts of people die, they die all the time. So long as it's not them they don't care. What about if this persons parents or grandparents, etc die? Fine, let's say they literally don't give AF about them either. Then one day for instance that person has a serious accident. Let's say it's a car accident and they need immediate medical attention. Ohh, but we're sorry we don't have any available beds or doctors or ventilators, guess you just need to die, because you know people die everyday.

You're not the only one. I for instance was planning on moving this year, was already looking at homes before this came down like a ton of bricks. That's pretty much dead. Any plans anyone had are the the least of our collective worries. This is worse than the 2008 recession, far, far worse. I don't think it's settled in with many yet. Large amounts of people are still in denial. Massive lay offs are coming, companies will start to go bankrupt causing tons of unemployment. Recovery could take well over a decade depending on how bad this gets. It's in everyones interest to take this seriously and try to get it under control ASAP so we can move on ASAP.

Yes it will, but this is all dependent on our actions as a collective. No one gets to sit out this war, no one.

I've been talking about the market with friends who are already buying in. I always say its much worse than now. Wait a bit longer until the extent of the economic slowdown is known and then buy. We will have plenty of time to buy, because this economy will not flip its switch overnight. The extent of the changes is enormous, unlike any in our lifetimes. Its going to take a while to recover.

Also a sobering read: a first-hand account from a doctor treating COVID-19 patients, explaining the cruelty of the disease annihilating the lungs from functioning normally and provoking the immunity system to go full tilt: here ("This respiratory therapist treats coronavirus in New Orleans - He says the virus is a lot worse than you think").
"This is knocking out what should be perfectly fit, healthy people. I have patients in their early 40s and, yeah, I was kind of shocked. I’m seeing people who look relatively healthy with a minimal health history, and they are completely wiped out, like they’ve been hit by a truck. This is knocking out what should be perfectly fit, healthy people. Patients will be on minimal support, on a little bit of oxygen, and then all of a sudden, they go into complete respiratory arrest, shut down and can’t breathe at all. (...)
In my experience, this severity of ARDS [Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome] is usually more typical of someone who has a near drowning experience — they have a bunch of dirty water in their lungs — or people who inhale caustic gas. Especially for it to have such an acute onset like that. I’ve never seen a microorganism or an infectious process cause such acute damage to the lungs so rapidly. That was what really shocked me."

Reports like this are frightening. Doctors treating the lung condition say they have never seen lungs impacted like this before. There is so much new and unknown here.

I also weep for you, my dear US friends.

The shit is hitting the fan hard!

One of my wife's clients just laid off 5k people Friday. They are not related to the food service industry.

I left IT (after 30+ years) and started my own biz ---> My biz is all tied to the food industry: www.cheftog.com

As known, looking at the stars is a look back in time (see here). The same applies to looking at COVID-19 statistics: because of the incubation period (the period between exposure to COVID-19 and the appearance of the first symptoms), the figures reflect contamination of one or two weeks ago, rather than current real-time contamination as we speak (which is worse). Positive results of tight measures taken today, will only be reflected in future statistics. Keep that in mind. Hence, the sense of urgency: time is of the essence.

Currently there is nothing to stop this virus. The simple truth is, the virus is going to run its course. Doesn't matter what country you live in. The only difference is what your government and/or its people do as far as social distancing restrictions. Those restrictions are only to slow the progression of the virus so that it does not overwhelm the medical system all at once. This is the only way to currently mitigate the fatality rate. People are going to die from this, how many is up to each of you.

And back on topic...Morning therapy, I took a very nice drive this morning to nowhere. Enjoyed a few nice roads and tail slides. Nothing but smiles. Still love this car and it provided a much needed break from the current events.

One fringe benefit of all non-essential workers now being mandated to be on official lockdown is the early morning car auto runs now makes the streets appear as if I'm here all alone, like post-apocalyptic/plague types of alone..

Usually, these streets are typically littered with morning commute traffic or gridlock from the airport conduits; now it's just a clear, open road. It's truly blizzard times to be alive, to say the least..

Oh well, may as well make the best of the worst and keep the pedal touching the floor, around those apexes, while I take the long way back home..

I have been sparingly using this as I was under the impression BMW no longer offers. Do you have another source or have they re-released a similar product?

For realz, what a crappy year it's shaping up to be..

At this juncture, a good old fashion anal-probing would probably be par for the course...

Absolutely agree with everything written above. Except... I can no longer go for those drives to nowhere and I cannot smile. I'm too f--king scared. I have completely stopped watching the news. It simply makes me cry. Those images from Italy. I have close friends in the UK and I'm really worried they are going to get hit hard.
I'm a huge fan of Brian May (lead guitarist for Queen) and on his website (BrianMay.com) he's been posting MicroConcertos for coronavirus therapy. A silver lining in each cloudy day for me.
Stay safe and healthy my Bimmer friends.
