One other thing if the seats we're tilted for safety reasons wouldn't the P/S seat be tilt the other direction?🤔

If you never would have read that article you could be blissfully ignorant that anything was amiss😃
I noticed it as soon as I sat in the car before I read the article.

It's noticeable if you sit perfectly in the seat and look for it. But I just don't care and everything feels right once driving. The M2 and M2C both have slightly offset seats.

If you really want to experience the crooked seat, go sit in a new Z4 - it's worse than the M2.

Too funny. This topic came up shortly after introduction. After hearing of it I tried to confirm the issue on my car and never could. Not saying it is or isn't there...I just couldn't see it or feel it. Obviously, it never bothered me. I sold my M2 in November last year so obviously it's still not an issue for me.

I consider myself very sensitive to minor details like this, but I couldn’t feel the angled seat even after reading about prior to my purchase.
I do feel like the clutch is positioned further away than the gas pedal which gave me an awkward sensation at first.. maybe it’s the crooked seat causing this or my mind playing tricks on me.

I read about this here, went out, sat in my car, noticed it slightly at that time (once I was told about it), and haven't noticed it since.

Maybe it's because I'm short? Maybe the taller guys are the ones having the issues. I honestly don't see that far over the wheel, even with the seat all the way up. Or maybe it straightens a bit as it goes up? No idea, all I know is that it doesn't bother me nearly as much as how hard this damn car is to shift smoothly from 1st to 2nd lol.

I hadn't heard this brought up in a while. It's never been enough to bother me. I thought at one time it was causing my knee to hurt on long trips, but not sure that was it.

Aaaand just did 14 hours straight in my car today. Again no neck problems.

No the supposed reason was side impact and btw you want the airbag to hit you or hit it straight on.

your missing the point...the driver side will have additional engineering requirements compared to the passenger side.

no one is going know the real reason unless your a bmw engineer or have access to the m2 crash results.

if your really curious you can go on the nhtsha website and look up the US crash standards yourself and figure it out.

Had my M2 two years now and notice I'm sitting at an angle almost every time I drive. Definitely feels weird, but not something I care about.

It doesn't bother me in the M2, although I don't drive it long distances.
It's more noticeable in my 3-series, but it doesn't bother me although ever once in a while I have to 'schooch' my butt to the left slightly.

I've noticed it, but it doesn't bother me at all... but with regards to the OP, if BMW intentionally made the seat crooked, why would they sell a "seat straightening kit"?

The seat being crooked doesn’t bother me as mush as how high it sits. Even my Audi family wagon sits lower.

I'm definitely in the majority that never noticed anything until I read a few posts like this one on here. Still doesn't bother me.... I notice it more than anything just because it's in my head but it's never impeded my enjoyment or driving of the car.

Me too. I just aim the car slightly more to the right than my other cars and I end up straight.

I read the reviews and knew it was crooked before I bought the car. If you focus on it you will notice it's slightly crooked but for 99.999% of the time it was out of sight out of mind as I never noticed it while driving the car ever.
