New brakes and 18" wheel setup for M2C
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Did anybody change the brake setup from 2NH calipers to use 18" wheels on a M2C for track use? If so, which brakes did you use and would you recommend it. Thank you in advance for any feedback, |

You can see details on our blog in this post: Shave 40 unsprung pounds from your M2 Competition We offer two front kit options and a matching rear. Front Option A The wider front option is the CP9668 kit, which uses a 25mm (1 inch) thick pad. We have confirmed that it fits the following wheels: Confirmed wheels that fit without a spacer: Apex EC7 18x9.5 +22 Apex EC7 18x10 +33 BC Forged RS43 Monobloc 18x10 +15 BC Forged RS43 Monobloc 18x10 +25 Forgeline GSR1 19x9.5 +25 Klassen M52R 18x9.5 ET +20 5x120 72.56CB Confirmed wheels that fit with a spacer: OEM 437M 19x9 +29, with a 5mm spacer The downloadable wheel fitment template can be found here: https://www.essexparts.com/storage/w...CP9668-372.pdf Front Option B The narrower CP9660 front caliper kit uses an 18mm thick pad. Confirmed wheels that fit without a spacer: OEM 19" Style 788M OEM 19" Style 763M Apex EC7 18x9.5 +22 Apex EC7 18x10 +33 BC Forged RS43 Monobloc 18x10 +15 BC Forged RS43 Monobloc 18x10 +25 Matching Rear Kit https://www.essexparts.com/ap-racing...m2-competition Feedback, Reviews, pics, details: If you search "essex" here on the forum (in the F87 M2, e90 M3, F80 M3 sections in particular) you'll find tons of feedback on our kits. Our kit isn't the cheapest option, but it is by far the most durable, highest performing, and valuable brake upgrade on the market if you want to fit inside lightweight 18" track wheels. Most of our clients run our kit for a few years until they move onto their next car, and sell them on the used market for 65-70% of their brand new retail price. They pay for themselves in consumable (pad, disc, and fluid) savings alone. As such, they are a terrific investment that you get to enjoy for years without losing much money. FYI...we also offer Forgeline and APEX wheels, and we're happy to give you a quote on a complete and compatible wheel and brake package if you're interested. Below are some M2 and M3 owner reviews of our AP Racing Radi-CAL Brake kit from our blog. Their feedback tells the story better than anything we could possibly write here: https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...ving-technique https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...umables-batman https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...arbon-ceramics https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...s-past-weekend https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...-kit-at-a-time https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...-essex-brakes- https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...cing-brake-kit https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...-ap-racing-bbk https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...radical-recipe https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...ompetition-bbk https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...sex--ap-racing https://www.essexparts.com/news-blog...-at-bimmerfest Last edited by jritt@essex; 09-10-2020 at 09:34 AM.. |

I have not moved to 18's yet, however I plan to at some point. No issues with my AP ESSEX kit. They perform very well on track.

I did it at 181 miles. Worked with jritt@essex to have the proper setup for my M2C. Repeat customer and have plenty of pics on my build thread to document them.
Best investment IMO. Oh jritt@essex add 18" BBS RIA, RE and E88 to your fitment list for 9660 no spacer needed. |

I'm with 2NH but will likely bite the AP bullet at some point; probably not until I run through a second set of rotors. OEM rotors are showing hairline cracks at 9k km (multiple track days and Pagid RSL29 pads). Torn between a second set of OEM rotors or going aftermarket (quality aftermarket 400mm floating rotors for 2NH sourced in the EU are like finding leprechauns;when you do actually find one they drug you, violate you and take all your money). |

Kankles, my rotors look pretty much identical. I have one more track day in 2.5 weeks, and then next spring I will also need new rotors. I will stick to OE size rotors. No need to be violated by leprechauns.

Buying aftermarket rotors (with reusable bells) is just like the leprechaun run-in..it only hurts the first time

Grey 2nh closers have a slightly different standoff to blue m5 brembos I have so you'd need brackets but the Reylsnds 374mm x 36mm rotors would work with yr grey calipers inside 18" wheels

Yes. Our systems are all designed to integrate with the OEM rear brakes, or our rear brake kit if you choose to add it. The rear is by no means a necessity however. Thanks, and let us know if you have other questions.

Hi Jeff, do you know whether 18s can fit over the OEM 2NH rears? I'm in the area and considering Apex FL-5 9.5" ET28 at all four corners with 9660 out front. Thanks!
