Speed in each Gear

Wondering what the manual M2 competition's max speed in each gear, anyone know?

You could probably compute it from data in the manual. From memory 1st tops out around 40 and 2nd around 75, 3rd around 110.

Thanks but there ought to be a road test with that data, I just haven't found it 🙂

These gear ratios came from a Road & Track (or maybe Motor Trend) review of the M2C. I have them loaded on Harry's Laptimer. Hope it helps!

Joking aside, that depends on tread wear, pressure and load....

Under acceleration squat will reduce rear tyre diameter too.

All very approximate of course

But 110 top of third seems about right.

Can someone run the numbers for a dct? I don’t have the gear ratios.

The gear calculator I used only accepts up to 6 forward gear ratios...

Obviously goes by in a blur, but 1st-3rd seem VERY close for DCT. I was doing some "testing" last weekend.

This calculator is a bit clunky to setup, but it allows for up to 8 gears:

Here's the output I got for DCT:

Edit - might as well post the graph for the manual...

Alan7476, thanks for posting the graphs above!

Gives me a good visual on the rpm drops with each gear change.

I’m surprised the first to second drop in rpms is bigger on the DCT than the manual.

The N55 dct M2 will do 120 in 4'th. I've been doing a bunch of 4'th gear pulls lately while going through the tuning process. Hadn't checked the other gears.
