So we just got our 2019 M240i xDrive convertible Saturday. It's my Wife's car, which we traded in a 2013 Lexus GS 350 AWD Fsport that was in Starfire Pearl. It's her B-day present. She wanted an M4 vert, but need the xDrive.
My fun car is a 2018 Maserati MC Convertible. My daily is a black 2013 GMC Yukon XL. We also have a 2004 Mercedes CLK 500, but it's about to go bye bye. |

I'm cheating here, because this isn't my garage, but the red car is my "other car."
Lives at my friend's house because he has the space to work on it. In return, he always gets a seat in any races the car runs. |

As of right now, I definitely don't see myself selling it and that may change, but I honestly doubt it. I paid $2000 for mine, have about $400 worth of parts into it, and needs another $1000 or so to be perfect for me. At that point, it would be an even better daily, and a killer AutoX car. I think everyone should experience at least 1 Miata, they're just so dang fun. I got an OBD1 car for the simplicity of everything, and since it turns 30 this year, it's considered an Antique, and won't require inspections anymore. Obviously the NC's and ND's will be much nicer, but if you want something to tinker with, snag a pre '95 NA and enjoy it. It's much more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car fast. This past weekend, the fiance and I did a timing belt kit and water pump for it. I've taken apart dirt bike motors and weed eaters before, but never something that actually ran well, so this job on the Miata was daunting. I just took my time, and double checked everything, and it came out perfectly fine. I like to tinker with things though. If I'm not driving the car, I'm messing with it, and if I'm not doing either of those then I am shopping for parts or 3D printing / making random junk for it. I love it. This is exactly what i wanted to know. I'm currently thinking of getting an ND2 with the 181hp engine. While it's newer and faster than the NA I hear from owners of all generation that the ND feels closest to the NA out of all the generations. I have not met a single owner or past owner who doesn't recommend this cool little car, so i am planning on buying my first miata in the next few months. Thanks for your input and enjoy your NA! |

I'm not saying i'm some god mode driver either, the car just has so little inertia that any mistakes you might make are immediately correctable, provided you know basically what you're doing. |

A few quick things about Miata's, having had a NA and now a ND/RF.
1. If you have a tall torso, they can be a tight fit. (I think the ND is a bit tighter than the NA, at least on the RF). I'm 6' with a 37.5" torso and riding in a ND is..... unpleasant unless the top is down. 2. They can be INVISIBLE-- they're small, short and don't have a lot of mass. Semi's flat-out just don't see them. So, drive very, very defensively. My best friend got run off the road in one-- the other driver just didn't see her. She got a SUV shortly thereafter. 3. Overall, they're a flat-out hoot to drive. My wife's "fun sized" and her RDX is gathering dust as the RF has more or less become her primary car. R. |

Haha i am a midget at 5'10" and fit like an absolute glove. I LOVE how you sit so low to the ground and in the car, not on the car. The 2019s have telescoping steering wheel now so during my test drive it felt fantastic. Can't wait! My current garage is M2C and Prius Prime so after the Miata I don't think i'll need another car for a LONG time. |
