Yeah no kidding

Well I decided to go with the 4S

I'm gonna have some patients like you're exhibiting

Ceramic coating my wheels was one of best decisions I've ever made

These are not the same tires.

PILOT SPORT CUP 2 CONNECT (240) <- M2 sizes not listed, yet.

PILOT SPORT CUP 2 TRACK CONNECT <- prior to M2CS, not 240

Michelin provided me this information and is what we want. If you call make sure they confirm these numbers. I talked w/a couple different people at Tire Rack and they are all over the place on these tires.

Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect (240)
Michelin MSPN 90817 - 245/35ZR19/XL (93Y)
Michelin MSPN 67497 - 265/35ZR19/XL (98Y)
$499 Track Connect Kit
Need to confirm the MSPNs but it looks like the 240 track connect are now available and not too much more that the non-connect version.

Sorry to revive this old thread but are the Cup 2 connect DT1 240 tread ware tires better in the wet than the 180?

I'm a noob with respect to this...

My understanding is they are definitely better

They have advanced compounds the 180s don't

I see, I got a deal on a set of 763M wheels with these tires and not sure if I should keep them or get PS4s instead.

I rarely drive the M2C in the rain as it is not my daily and have PA4s now for the winter (awesome tires by the way).

If you're not putting coil overs on combined, I would go with the 4S'

And you can trust me. They are epic in the rain

Stick w/ factory sizes as well

I suspect yes. The 240 cup 2 is a very grippy tire with improved water channels. Also mentioned we're the newer compounds. If you want to drive relaxed in wet and/or cold below 45F, then this isn't your tire. I love it. I drive 4 seasons. Sometimes below 32F. My car is garaged so tires start out warmer and I park in a parking garage at work. You must be paying attention when these tires are out of their comfort zone.

Driven my 240s in low 40s, high 30s a few times. Worked fine - just treat it like you’re just getting from A to B and drive smoothly. Wouldn’t recommend them for that weather full time, but getting caught in it isn’t an issue… well based on my driving style at least

There is arguably improved feel with the cup2. I'd do yourself a favor and give them a try in nice weather. Especially if you already have them mounted.

Also, the MPS4S is a soft tire compared to the Cup2 240s.

Tough choice as I have the dedicated PA4s for cold weather (Toronto area) and I rarely take her out in the rain. I also don't track the M2...

It's the sidewall stiffness that differentiates the two

The Connect system allows you to monitor the temps of all 4 tires

The other thing is the Cup 2 240 Connect's are ⭐️ star tires, codeveloped by BMW ///M

Downside is the cup 2's have such a sticky compound, everything on the planet sticks to them

Get expanded ppf on your rear quarters if you run these. It's no joke. These are really sticky and pick up significant size pebbles. My ppf is rough to the touch.

Cup2 are great tires in the street but once you run them on track you realize how sticky they are when they reach optimal temperature,

Getting so much heat in them in the street impossible but the are nice road tires.

But street only, the 4s are perfect.

To be honest the 4S is an absolutely phenomenal street tire
However, I look forward to the 5S because the 4S sidewall’s are not quite stiff enough for my personal tastes

My cup2 connect holds up just fine on wet if anyone was wondering. I thought it will be worst as the original cup 2s.

240 vs 180 TW translates to better wet grip no?

I watched ps4 vs cup2 connect on wet off youtube. And cup2 connect almost performs the same as ps4 but ps4 still did better on wet track.
