I did go ahead and slightly modify the title of the thread, as well as added a few words to initial post.

Share what is on your mind. . . more often than not, it is on the minds of others as well at some point.

Well, doesn't get any more exact for the 2,000km break in service.

Can't wait to use the remainder of the rev range now

Attention Bimmerpost customers . . .

If anyone knows the owner of a black 981 GT4 in Daytona Beach area, please tell that fucker - after two failed attempts - he needs to realize his exceptional sport car isn’t going to sniff what my beast has to offer on the Daytona roadways, including I-95 . . . but it has been fun.

Do not get me wrong, I love the GT4 but . . . if you want to keep up with me on the Daytona roadways, better look into getting a 718 CGTS.

I've met a few of those guys around my area.

Actually, had an X5M Comp keep up with me one night. In my defense, he caught me off guard and I didn't get a chance to downshift before we got going. If we had more room he might of beat me. Those suckers are quick!

God I missed this thread! Completed my break in service today... I grinned like a fool for the entire ride. Wow! I was excited for this car and was initially a little let down before this. Now that I'm using the revs, good LORD! Also had em throw on the Weistec Filter cover because why not add some color under the hood...

What exactly did they do and tell you at your break-in service when they plug into their diagnostics? Other than you voluntarily holding your revs back for the 1200 miles, what's actually unleashed during that frost service. Lots of varying experiences from everyone other the common fluid changes.

Since taking ownership of my M2C I have repeatedly stated it is hard to capture the beast in photos.

Now living in Florida where there are a lot of ///M cars on road, I realize it's not just the M2C. . . ALL of these ///M cars look better on the road and in motion.

In short, the beauty of ///M cars are best appreciated dynamically and in person.

ENJOY YOUR BEASTS!!!!! They are special!!!

Nothing is unleased, besides the ability to launch the car. Everything else is placebo effect

Nothing other than doing the break in service , the car can be pulled to its limit, thats all. BTW the redline is 7500 and not 7000 correct?

7600 is the official rev limit for S55 interestingly enough the S58 limit is 7200 from what I've read.

Yes, brother Kutta . . . I am all over the map with the M2C and its redline.

On the one hand, I wish the M2C pulled harder all the way to redline. . .

On the other hand, I am honestly not exactly sure where redline exists given there is no visible redline.

As a consequence, and given I live in manual mode, I find I bounce off redline quite a bit in the M2C.

I had the chance to pull to the redline in the last few days and there seems to be a tiny flat spot from 5500 rpm to redline, only really noticeable if you've driven the F8X Comp pack. I think the difference in power between the detuned version is definitely in that higher range of rpm.

Quick interlude . . .

Been burning the candle at both ends in the Hospital lately . . . got out of surgery this morning and decided I needed a four-piece Chik'n Mini and Diet Coke from Chick-Fil-A. . . located across the street from the Daytona International Speedway.

If anyone on this sub-forum is considering buying a Tesla or feels acoutstics are overrated when it comes to the visceral driving experience, let me offer you this . . .

While waiting in the Chik-Fil-A drive through I could not believe how fucking loud and absolutely marvelous the cars on the Speedway sounded. . . it literally had my adrenaline levels amped up!!!

I did not even need to see the cars. Simply hearing them was a thrill!!

I have not talked a lot about my MPE on this forum because I do feel the stock M2C exhaust is more than enjoyable . . . that acknowledged, I have to admit that the MPE has come with a great deal of purchase satisfaction.

Back to the trenches . . .

IMSA, NASCAR, or other at Daytona? I did attend the Rolex 24 there in 2015.
On second thought, they may be testing the P3 class for next year....

I agree, sound is what makes enthusiasts love their rides. Especially in the boonies of NC/SC/WV, etc.

In a similar note, attending an F1 race in Montreal in 2008, you exit a subway 1/2 mile from the track. Even from that distance, the screaming V8s gave me chills. To be next to them in the stands was on a whole other level.

Same with Top Fuel. At Charlottes 4-wide track, hearing and feeling 40,000 HP pass by you is mind blowing. Its like a rapidly moving earthquake or explosion.

I LOVE the sound of the stock exhaust. It makes me smile and sometimes I laugh when I mash the gas. It sounds so hooligan!

Isnt the tiny reddots above 7500 rpm show redline, i wish the tachometer atleast would light up close to redline. These are the important features missing in the M2C rather than collision warning, lane departure crap

I hear you Boss . . . as I believe is true of most, I just rely on the tachometer movement through my peripheral vision. A sense of that needle moving from left to right. . . and in relation to the 'red line.'

I feel not having an actual red line is a major oversight on the part of BMW engineers. That stated, I drive in DCT manual mode and suspect I could bounce off red line all day and night and it would not cause any harm. . . not sure the same can be said of a MT?

///AVM

P.S.
For some odd reason I have this feeling there is very good reason why BMW did not offer a true, visually apparent 'red line' . . . and Poochie will tell us why . . .

I haven't been brave enough to test it, and have no real reason to since there is plenty of power before redline, but I'm pretty sure our MTs have the same rev limiter.

There was one guy on the forum with a MT AND a tune that removed the rev limiter...blew his engine up on the Autobahn with a "money" shift.
