I like how your brain works my friend...I was thinking the EXACT same thing RE: tinting the turn signals.

Great minds think alike!

I was seriously considering the current replicas from IND and AutoID, but was holding out for something a little better. Looking at the OEM M mirrors I could see how that could be replicated better. I'm really glad I found that post by Aboen. Another advantage, like you mentioned, is they can be removed. It's involved but a lot less than if you bought the OEM M mirrors.

They look promising (especially at that price point) but I'm going to reserve judgement until after I install them and see how they look in person. If they look tacky or don't fit well I'll be taking them back off without any hesitation.

Also, for those of you ordering these (or anything else from autoID) use the discount code "HyperCarCollective" to get £10.00 off your order

The painted ones should ship out October 1st so hopefully I'll be able to review these ~3 weeks from now (assuming install instructions are available)

According to the site: "painted mirrors will take 7-10 days to be dispatched as they are made to order"

So idk if they start that process Oct 1 or if they will be ready to ship Oct 1 but either way I'll make a post/review about them once I have them.

So like others i have been eyeing to upgrade my side mirror to the ones similar to the m2 competition. And yes i am aware of the side mirror cover alternative but knowing how ocd i am when it comes to my car i much get it right the first time. So just to clear things up, if i buy the entire sidemirror set and housing of the m2 competition, will it be a direct bolt in swap?

It looks like it pops out pretty easy if you take your time and start at the bottom center. Here is a good tutorial with good picks.

mirror cap replacement

So I bought the autotecknic V2 M-Inspired mirror cap, trying to figure out a way to pop open my oem cap. Do I need to pop the mirror out or can I just pop the cap out with like a screw driver and pop the V2 in? I tried to youtube it seems you can do it either way?

Íou can pop it off, but I think it's better to remove the mirror first, then you can unclip the pins from the inside so they wont break.

This is the best method. I have seen people in videos rip them off but I would worry about breaking clips.

Always remove mirror first. It is easy.
Then you can get to the clips and not destroy them.
