DCT hard 1-2 shift

So,

I let my dad try out my m2. Rolled on to the throttle in 1st, then idk I guess he freaked, forgot to shift, then let off the throttle at redline, then shifted and it was a pretty loud thunk

Would that cause any problems? I'd assumed it was just a heavy energy transfer being heard cause the car was expecting second but had no throttle

It's done, I'll buy it from you for a huge discount.

It's fine, just don't do it repeatedly.

It's fine, launch controls are way harsher. Just don't forget to do maintainence early - that's the real killer.

Thanks guys! A little more reading from the f80 forum sounds like People notice this happening when letting off at the top of the rpm range at times. Similar to popping the clutch hard in a manual

Haven't looked into that yet (only 1900 miles). What's the recommended interval for flushes?

I don't have a dct so I don't know, but personally I would do it every 4 years (oxidation purposes) or ~50k km. But you also have to do filters, and maybe the jet pump so it is not cheap.
