BMW M TRACK DAYS 2016 in Barcelona ...featuring none other than the M2
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Most probably I will be attending, last year in Vegas was spectacular, a bit short but had the time of my life. As I will be crossing the pond I will like to stay for a few more days and make a road trip. What do you guys recommend in terms of cities and countries that will be easy to rent a M car or similar. Germany? perhaps Italy? Thanks in advance. |

To OP, black forest, Bavarian alps between switzerland and austria, dolomites in Italy...might be too early for grossglockner. You can rent M cars in Munich. Sixt rents M3s I believe. BMW On Demand is just for day rentals, but you can rent whatever you want. No one ways allowed, I imagine.

Let's say that it costs up to 2K EUR for one driver to be in the M2 on a track in Barcelona for 1.5 days... I wonder how much track time you have.
I am not so sure I would do it... I might spend my cash on a PPF vinyl or a Performance steering wheel MR |

Countryside roads in Italy and Switzerland are amazing. You can find stretches of mountain/canyon-style roads for miles with no other cars. I rented a Nissan Leaf for a few days in Zurich and went batshit in that little guy

Ouch for the 21 percent VAT on top. ( although if that was the only tax for me here in the US and then leave mah cash alone and no IRS.. I'd be all in for that ) Easier to check the Euro Delivery box and have Dackelone make some suggestions on where to go or perhaps do the M tour. If I was filthy rich I would be buying an M2 just to do another Euro Delivery and then why not see what I can make on selling an " unlimited but certainly limited for the first year " slightly used M2 .. DRAT. I'm not rich. |

If you're going to be in Barcelona Boca Chica is my favorite bar in the world. Bathroom is crazy Google it there's a bar and a DJ booth down there.

I did a track day in Barcelona with a basic Elise S2 about 12-years ago. Fantastic track with some really fun corners. Sadly the last few corners aren't as challenging as they were, but T3 & T9 remain and they're both brilliant.
In a road car that main straight is loooonnnngggg! An M2 would be massive fun, though I'd be curious to see how the brakes stand-up. T1, T4 and T10 are heavy braking events. |

You can rent an M car at Sixt in Nice, drive to Spain, do your track thing etc. and then return the car back to Nice and fly home.
Logistically it's the simplest way as far as I know. Driving from Munich will add one day minimum each way, so it depends what you most want to see: pine trees and lederhosen, or Mediterranean shrubs and bikinis.

Sixt rents M cars, 3,4,5, and 6. I've rented from them many times in Germany although M car availability is limited to major airports and cities.

I contacted the team organising the track day this morning and all of the tickets have been sold already! I guess there a lot of lucky people who want to drive the M2 before it's officially released.
