I can see that being pretty believable.
Attractive car for sure. Will be on the top of my shopping list.

Looks good to me. I thought the previous render looked good enough too. My reservations will be the curb weight and country of manufacturing. The auto transmission will be a minus for those who don’t want a manual.

Much better. Still keeping with the G80 and newer generation styling cues (minus the huge grille obviously) but distinctly a 2'er.
The squared off fender flares are gone though, this kinda resembles a F87 body just with G87 features. |

Hmm I’d be surprised if the lower grille looked like that. M car lower grilles have been frowny not smily for a while. That looks more like something I’d expect on an Mxxx car, albeit rendered in carbon fiber.

It’s fine, but the current M2C still looks a lot better to my eyes.

Agreed. This looks better than what I'm afraid of for the next M2. But right now it's feeling to me like the F87 M2 Competition is the pinnacle of styling for the line.

It just feels like BMW continues to walk away from its signature look little by little. Whether it’s the split kidney grilles going away, hofmeister kink, or angel eyes, they’re slowly losing any sort of styling identity.

The F87C still looks good when compared to the new designs. It is a blend of classic and modern touches and will stand the test of time, plus the size is perfect.
Still, this new G87 looks more promising in design than the G80 goat.

so glad I canceled my deposit on the new m3, and did a hard pass on a perfectly spec'd m4 the dealer had for 6k over 1,400 miles without the first service even done…
This render is pretty much perfect in my opinion, this leaves the only thing bad in my book, which is the taillights.

I am kinda with ya.
It's a good looking car no doubt, but the elongation of the body in the g42 takes away a bit from the mean muscular look that the wide body M treatment works so well on in the F87... kinda like how an f87 looks better than an f80 M4... |

Exactly this. The F87 is a perfect car- power, agility, looks, tech, comfort, fuel efficiency, available manual, cargo room- it has everything you could ever want in a daily sports car. I’ve owned an M235i and an M2 back to back as my daily drivers (30k miles a year.) The next car will definitely be an M2C. This platform is just so well put together.

It looks a lot boxy compared to the current curvy, sexy little beast. I’d almost think this design came first. It’s not terrible but I think it’s a step back styling wise. The headlamps = huge loss of bmw character for me, as my first car was an 89 325is, which I absolutely loved the front end of. Worth noting, I didn’t love the styling of the current version til I started seeing them in person, pics do no justice to them hips…so I’ll reserve full judgement til then.
