M2 CS delivery - USA (MB - 6MT - M-CCB - GLD 763M - Cup2) - This car is Dirty!

Howdy all,

Like many of you on the board we've been patiently waiting for our Wk45 M2CS to arrive on the West Coast, tracking it daily as it crossed the Atlantic, traveling through the Panama Canal then up the coast to Port Hueneme, finally taking delivery of it last week on 12/22/2020, the very next day after we sold and said goodbye to our GT3 Touring!

The waiting however has been much longer than just a few months, we placed a deposit for this car waaaaay back in 2016 for the then rumored 'CSL'. To be honest, I'm kinda glad they never made something more hardcore because I'd be tempted to get it even if it didn't provide what we needed out of the car, like back seats for our son!

The final F87 iteration epitomizes what BMW ///M is all about to us, a fun, small(ish), fast driver-involved machine that puts ear-to-ear smiles on your face. You can still see the evolutionary design details that have carried through since the E30 and it provides practically that other cars it's compared to, like the GT4, can't provide. This is a recipe that BMW is loosing sight of and while I didn't think we'd buy another new BMW again after our 2011 Fire Orange E90 M3, the M2CS brought us back for one last hurrah and we couldn't be happier!

While we don't have much seat-time yet and still breaking it in, I can't help but feel this is a keeper. No issues or complaints with the manual tranny, adaptive suspension or CCBs. Steering input feels great and no issue with the diameter of the wheel... sure the input is no where the level the Touring is but still feels much improved over the E90 M3. The only real complaints would be not being able to disable rev-matching, a better exhaust note and controlling that as Porsche does but those aren't deal-breakers.

No doubt this forum is getting busier with everyone taking delivers as BMW gets as many through the end-of-the-year as possible but we're probably the only people to drive it home with all the shipping protection still in place and nothing installed so I thought it would be a laugh to share our ugly photos in light of all the "pretty" ones being posted. Thanks to Greg Angell at East Bay BMW for keeping on top of this till the end, I probably went through like 3-4 SAs there since this deposit was placed.

Car goes in for a full PPF and Ceramic job tomorrow, will follow-up with 'nice' pics soon, enjoy your CS's everyone and happy holidays!!!

We're SO happy with this combination, I can't even describe how stunning it looks in-person. We saw a Hockenheim M2C and a Misano Blue 2-series Gran Coupe next to each other before placing an order and MB looked god awful on that car, our initial order was HS w/Gold because of that impression and I have to say, MB being available across so many models was a bit off-putting at first.

But the internet put me back on track, the photos and videos of it on the M2CS looked amazing and it solved the hunger to have something with a bit more visual punch, we changed the order and have zero regrets. It looks so different on the CS it's hard to believe it's the same color as the 2-series, X2 or Z4 and in context, that color being only on the CS variant was a bonus.

You'll love it, we do!

Cheers, it was Rhodium Silver. 4 ended up coming to North America in this color, 3 to the US and 1 for Canada.

I can't count how many times it's been mistaken for a Lime Rock, even at the dealer.

Built in the last few weeks of E90 production, BMW crammed it in after they built our first car in the wrong Individual color.

Agreed! I'm not sure why there isn't more uptake on Rhodium and they discontinued it early on in .2 Touring production... guessing because GT Silver, which should to be a bigger upcharge became a standard option.

Personally I like the depth and pop Rhodium has, it tends to change much more given the lighting.

Just dropped off the car to Elite Auto Films for full PPF and Ceramic, first time using them since my go-to shop is too busy, crossing my fingers!

Beautiful M3. One of five in Fire Orange. Do you still have it? Is it a slicktop and 6MT?
