That's funny, whenever we go to Porsche/PCA events, my wife always asks me why I like hanging out with old men.

Lovely car but am with you on this. Way back in 1999 I was 26 and felt the M3 was too kiddish and went with the S4. 😂😂. Since then I've been bouncing around w the E92 and an F10 thrown in and reupped with a second M4. Now I'm 47 and can't picture myself in an M2. The only car that will get me to go the other way is the GR Yaris!!!
Dafuq?!..

Styling of a kids car?.. really, as compared to what?.
Is it the Misano blue color option that triggers folks?
Styling is subjective, but c'mon, the m2 competition was already wearing it well, lauded by many and now the CS is dressed to kill.

I mean sh!t, this is not "probably" and more so evidently one of the most focused driver cars in bmws line up at this moment..

The formula is damn near perfect blend of components making for the pinnacle expression of engineering in the outgoing gen and unsurprisingly those additional improvements come at a premium.

The price is what it is.

We can all agree to disagree or not.
Go get your Porsche or Yaris if that toots yer horn..
[/QUOTE]
Totally agree!! Very subjective. If you look at my 911, I should be the last to say anything is kiddish. But I think it's too stubby!?!? Only way to describe it. Like the Cayman GT4, I'm sure it's awesome, I just can't do it 🤷🏻

I'm 44 and this is the perfect car for my wants and needs as well as budget. While Porsche is an awesome car I wouldn't want to own one over other options (yet). Some people like to turn everyone's head in a bright red Ferarri or Porsche. I really can't say anything bad about Porsche other than it's too much flash for me.

Personally I wanted something Fast, sporty, a bit of luxury and a street sleeper of sorts. I'm also not looking to rack up speeding tickets. I also live in the Boston area and roads are terrible in a lot of areas. I also prefer 2 doors over 4. The other issue is I have kids, they are older but it's not uncommon to have them both hanging out with me.

But even with all that said the CS just does it for me. So did the Competition but I liked the CS options overall more.

While I appreciate everyone's opinions I'll never understand why people can't look at life from others perspectives. (this is why there's so many options for cars.) My problem with this post is he offered his opinion (looks like a kids car) which is fine but then he added... I just cant imagine anyone over the age of like 35 buying this thing. Perhaps if this was presented as a question? ..

I know.. I know..

Y’all are a dangerous bunch. I’m just a few more parts away from my “perfect” F80, and you’re making me consider an M2CS.

Congrats, OP. Those Swiss mountain roads are an incredible driving paradise.

If you think you're too old for a M2 that's an issue for you not the car I suspect? My neighbor is 61 with E30 and E46 M3's and he's drooling over the prospect of seeing the F87 CS.

That's funny, i've always noticed when in a 911 or even cayman no one gives a crap about the car except car enthusiast ... for the general public all 911 looks the same since forever and by now they've seen 50k of them. In people's mind a 911 is boring unchanged and they probably think they've already seen a tone of time unlike true exotics like Ferrari or Lambos probably...

In comparison you'll attract way more people's attention with an M2 than in a 911 XD

Well of course saying it looks like a kid car is subjective, but for anyone looking for a car in the M2's price range with the same level of practicality... choosing something more sensible can be more boring. No matter what age you are, if you're no longer wanting to have some fun and enjoy life that's when you're really one foot in the grave.

It a huge compliment that the M2 repeatedly gets compared to a Cayman or 911. Those cars are built with less compromises for the road than the M2 yet they don't out-perform the M2 enough to not be compared to it.

Congrats on the delivery . The M2cs is one nifty little beast

As a tidbit, the M2cs does not get the M4cs seats. The alcantara on the M2cs seats is on the outside of the bolsters while on M4cs seats it is on the inside of the bolsters. The latter makes more sense as the alcantara helps in holding the driver better in the seat while on track. Not sure why they did that for the M2cs seats

Trying to decide if i'll go with a M2CS or G80 at the moment ... I've had the M2 before and i loved it... My initial intent was to go with the G80 but it has a strange face, so i'm not completely used to it... Price wise they are similar, not sure which one is more capable.

The beauty of being a car enthusiast is that it begins in childhood and changes very little over a lifetime. Generally speaking, the types of cars that captured our hearts as children continue to decades later.

Exactly.
Even my '18 Focus RS sh!tbox has the alcantara paneled for functionality, as do most "sport" coupes.

The M4 GTS has it at the inner bolsters also.. why modify it in this way?..🤷*♂️
Was it an approach on tactility and touch point sensations when moving the seat (also on the M2 Comp) or just mix and match for change and blocking sake?

I don't get it.

I'm not totally sure on this but.. I know the M2 competition seats are Dakota Leather the CS are Merino leather which apparently based on reviews holds you in the seat really well.. I also don't know much about the M3/M4's so not sure if they are varying types of leather as well.

The F8x were all Merino leather (extended or full or individual). Not sure why the change, doesn't really make sense. Kind of happy about it though, because I've seen a couple of M4CS seats after heavy use and the alcantara looked really worn out ruining the whole appearance of the cabin. The Merino doesn't age in quite the same way.
I know some will argue that Alcantara is easy to clean up and get back up to original condition, just a personal preference

Best car. I own an M2 Competition and enjoy it so much. Do t even need to drive that fast, the car is quite tactile for a modern car.

If it's a kid car, then great!!!

I don't want to drive a grandpa boat.

The M brings out the child within us!
