That particular Porsche seat is the single most comfortable seat I have ever sat in, once I got in I never wanted to get out!

MR, would you mind asking what the weight of that battery is and if it will be for sale later on?
No idea there is a new battery in there... I would need to dismantle the rear trunk hahaha

It's mentioned in the last paragraph of the first post. They probably used lithium battery and BMW states it reduced weight by 14kg or 31lbs.

I wonder what the weight savings would be if I put it on the current M2. MPE, All the CF Bits, the battery. Seems like an interesting package

Considering the amount/cost of carbon fiber or other materials needed to offset 31 pounds, why wouldn't BMW just make this battery stock on all M models? Seems like a very inexpensive way to shave 31 pounds.

It already comes standard on M3/M4 and I believe it costs around $1200 if you need replace it. However, there are aftermarket lithium batteries around $1000 range that provide the same benefits (some of them reduce weight even more in fact). It's pretty obvious IMO why they put it in M3/M4 but not in M2 (just to reduce the cost as much as possible, the same way they didn't add aluminum hood and fenders, CF roof and trunk etc on the M2 while they are standard on M3/M4).

that's why I am interested in this!

But if it's "only" 14 kilos then the liteblox is still more tempting, it would shave around 23kg off for about 1'700€. My SA is currently checking if the liteblox will interfere with the warranty (which i think it will...)

I'm also interested in this. I wonder how much the dealer is going to charge to code the replacement battery to the car?

Isn't it saving weight in the wrong place though? The car is already heavier up front, this will unbalance it even more and take weight off the rear wheels. Is that really with the additional cost of you don't also remove weight from the front?

thats why you NEED the CF Bonnet, CF side panels, CF Kidneys and CF frontplate mount to balance everything.
