HELP With GTS Hood Gas Strut
HI All
I just recently purchased a lightweight aluminum GTS hood from Aeroluxe and installed on the car. One thing I noticed was how fast the hood was popping up because of the OEM gas strut. The aluminum hood is incredibly light and the OEM is designed for the steel hood's weight I think. I see there is a OEM Gas Strut from BMW for the OEM CS/GTS Carbon Fiber hood. The M2 CS re-uses the Gas Strut from the M3/4 GTS & CS (Saw the part number in person). I wonder if having those CF OEM gas strut installed will help with how fast it pops up? This is the part number: 51238066092 |

I recently installed the proper gas strut for the CS/GTS hood and it definitely changed how fast it opens up.

The OEM CS/GTS Hood Struts made the opening so much more smoother bcs it's designed for lighter weight. It's a must for those who want to upgrade to lightweight Aluminum or Carbon Fiber GTS hood |
