Track Pad knock - PFC08
I'm running PFC08s on all four corners and have had no issues thus far on track - good initial bight and excellent modulation. Other than lots of break dust and squeal, these have been great.
My question is: Is it normal to hear/feel the pads knock into place whenever changing direction from forward to reverse? For instance, they knock into place whenever I apply the brakes after having just previously reversed the car and knock into place while reversing and applying brakes after having gone forward previously. I assume this is normal and a non-issue but just wanted to check the collective wisdom here. A buddy running these pads on an E92 M3 noticed the sound and said that he doesn't get the same phenomenon - although I understand his car has a different caliper design. Thanks. I run Pagid RS29 and have the same problem. I first thought it was a mistake on Pagids part that they got the backing plate dimensions wrong. But it's the same on both front and rear pads. And I read somewhere that they are made slightly to small to prevent getting stuck when expanding due to heat.
PS: Do you mean you are running PFC08? Or FCP?? PPS: I get really strange looks from people on the street when the car does this loud knocking sound Last edited by MagnusT; 06-21-2017 at 01:59 PM.. |

I get a lot of looks too on the street. People always seem to be looking for a 16 wheeler. |

I'm running PFC 08s as well and they do the exact same thing and it is totally normal.
One thing to note is that they got much quieter past my first track day. Still squealing a bit once in a while but absolutely acceptable for daily driving. |

I have the 08s mine do it. Just use them at track. I will look when I take them out to see if there is any damage to the sides of the pads from knocking.....
