I was just at BMW Manhattan. The sticker price was at MSRP but I didn't ask about a mark up. Isn't it typically posted on the window sticker as "market adjustment"?

Just came from Center BMW in Sherman Oaks. They are already on the list but they have a decked out Carbon accessorized AW/DCT. $63k sticker. They took $10K over sticker for the first one they sold, now they're asking $20k over! SMH.

One for the uk market, £53k for a manual with what looks like not a lot of extras. List price would be around £45-£46k. Shocking!

BMW of Escondido
I bought the white M2 they had there. Paid MSRP + carbon fiber accessories. They removed the 5k "market" adjustment because I simply told them if they removed the 5k, I would purchase it immediately. Guess it was my lucky day. Its worth simply asking and being a serious/ready buyer. |

What's the worst over sticker you've seen?
Here in the uk a used DCT car is listed with specialist 3rd party dealers at about £53k, I'd say £6k over new RRP

Unfortunately many client advisors are not really aware of what's going on and it's kind of the nature of the business (I know it sucks). I'm I client advisor (and enthusiast) at BMW of Santa Maria and I personally sold the first one we got for $5k over. Our dealership owner wants/wanted to do $12k over but both my new car manager and I pushed him into something more realistic/fair and keep it simple to first come first serve. The next one (which is available and currently at the port) I'm offering for $5k over as well (pm me for details in interested).
I'm sorry if thread jacking as that's not my intention. |
