2020 M2 wo Executive Package
I found a brand new 2020 without the executive package. The benefit is I've negotiated under invoice for a car that is currently in stock. Will I regret not getting the package? I won't be driving this in the winter.

Here is the exec package. My take is that its nice to have as its only $1200. However, all items are ones you can live without when looked at individually, so you decide. My take:
1) Heated Steering - Nice to have, can live without 2) Adaptive LEDs - Already comes with LEDs light. They just wont swivel (?). Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed with my LEDs. There is a huge dead band when the high beams are on 3) Auto High beams - Very nice to have for me as I use high beams daily. how often do you? 4) Wireless charging - Cool to have, but my phone is in a thick case and has to be removed so I never use it. Cable works equally well 5) Wifi- Useless for me, never used it. I have unlimited data on my phone anyway |

I think the package is worth it, barely. It's nice to have all the stuff and a thousand dollars on top of 60 thousand dollars just isn't that hard to swallow. But is it a "must have?" No. Absolutely not. |

Worth it for the headlights alone.
The heated wheel is nice when it's cold out. Was sub 30 this morning, and the wheel kept my hands nice and warm. Doesn't matter much if the car is garaged tho, but Ohio is much further North than NC. |

Worth it for the headlights, but just the headlights.
The wheel heater is a plus. Everything else, in all honesty doesn't matter. The charger is completely useless unless you have a tiny phone. The WiFi, who uses that?!?

Really comes down to personal preferences
A heated steering wheel is nice to have in colder weather Here in FL, I've only used it once just to see if it worked I mostly got it for the adaptive LED headlights However, they are not as good as I had hoped The auto high beams don't seem to work that well, either I still manually switch between low and high so as not to blind oncoming drivers The feature I find most convenient is the wireless charging and cradle My iPhone Xs fits very well even with a case and it gives me a dedicated spot to put it that is relatively secure and out of sight However, the charger does heat up the phone quite a bit and larger phones won't fit The WiFi is kind of cool to have and could be useful for travel, business or to keep passengers occupied with other devices In my case, I've only used the WiFi once so I'm not sure if I'm going to extend the free trial period |

The car drives, steers, and handles just as well without it. But the headlights are cool, which you'll never see because you're too busy driving, steering, and handling the car.

My take is that you dont really need it. However if you can negotiate it for free why not? Originally i was trying to get a car with no exec package. Exact same build as the car i ended up buying.
However due to some negotiating i managed to get Executive Package, wheel cap spinners (lol), first aid kit, and cable kit all at no charge. I say if you have the option to get it at no extra cost, then get it. Its nice to have. But honestly, you dont need it. |

Yeah this kinda really dissapointed me. I have a spare iphone that i wanted to just keep all the time in the wireless charging station with it connected to Carplay, but ever since i started doing that the phone just overheats and gives me a warning. I shoulda guessed but eh...

I'm fairly certain US spec cars, in any trim, do NOT get this extra outlet, it's just a blank hole. On Euro spec models tho, it is added via a specific package. Would LOVE to have it for dash cam / radar detector power...

Main reason I cared about it was for the hexagon headlights, as it helps give the car the modern BMW look. Without them it looks dated in my opinion. The other features helped justify that rather lame reason.

How does the WiFi even work, I wanted to connect my radar detector to it but could never figure it out lol.
As far as Heated Steering goes, I switched to a Carbon Fiber steering wheel so I don't have it anymore anyways. Adaptive headlights? Cool but easily can live without. Auto high beams? I don't really have to use them so not too useful for me? Wireless charging? Wired is better. If I had known aftermarket flat bottom steering wheels whether it be M Performance or my custom one, didn't support heated steering, I would've opted to get a car without exec package. |
