Well, luckily I have received a shipping notification for my Dinan exhaust…should be receiving it next week.
Hopefully by next weekend I’ll have it installed. I will update this thread with any installation tips, instructions, etc. followed by of course videos and impressions |

Ha...if you can't wait, imagine me??
The box is looking sweet in my garage, happily surprised that it only took me a few weeks to get it. Coordinating with the muffler shop, either this weekend or next for sure: we discussed to tig-weld all joining parts (no brackets or clamps here), cut the OEM like the pictures above, so likely the x-pipe won't be needed.

Dinan axleback is now Done!!!
Initial impressions- DAYUMMMMM. My M2C now sounds absolutely freaking amazing!! Loud just enough, MUCH DEEPER growl and tone, and just as important, I experienced ZERO rasp on my 1hr drive back from the shop. I found myself keeping in 2nd or 3rd gear only because, well - it's so enjoyable!!! OK, settle down boyo, but what about the installation? Installation cliff notes: - didn't need the included x-pipe - removed the clamps/brackets that came with the AA EL & mig welded instead (thought the shop would do tig, but mig welding works just as well). These are AA extenders that connect the ends of EL to the OEM piping - didn't use the Dinan brackets either; shop ended up fabricating custom elbow joints & welded them. Note: Dinan pipes are 70mm in diameter, OEM are 65mm - shop cut the OEM exhaust around the diff area Pictures speak 1000 words…see attached! Installer: I ended up using https://kinneysmufflershop.com/. This shop is absolutely fantastic to work with, extremely knowledgeable, very pleasant, listens to customers, patient. If you're in DFW area, I highly recommend Jesus (foreman) or Dirk (owner). Cost: ~ $550. Note, it would have been cheaper but I asked to weld everything that is bracketed, thus I paid more for custom connectors and welding. Installation time: about 4 hrs Conclusion: Dinan is 5 stars exhaust, and the pairing with AA EL makes my S55 -M2C sound MONEY!! PS yeah, I know I owe some videos, working on it. Need something more/better than an iPhone 11 to accurately capture this beast noise!!

Loosing some weight also helps (I'd say Dinan is ~ 1/2 as heavy as the OEM). No sagging balls/cow udder look either.
One of the best mods I have ever done!

- sound/tone is significantly deeper; feels like it dropped a few octaves, entire RPM range - encountered no raspiness from 1500-2000 RPM (like I did w/ AA EL only) - grumbles more, feels like it wants to burble, but not quite - cold starts are about same as before. - has a more noticeable 'braap' on up shifting/letting off throttle - as expected, efficient is very manageable, would be perfect for a long hwy drive. No drone - from a loudness POV, sport is about as loud as Sport+ w/ AA EL only. No drone, zero raspiness throughout several throttle blipping sessions - sport+ is perfect when you want to be a hooligan! Zero raspiness found, but occasional drone (few tries ~3k (ish), 3rd gear, doing 60mph). - the difference between Efficient/Sport is now more noticeable …the deeper growl is clearly evident/heard. - sport growl level 7 vs sport + growl level 10 Glorious upgrade- super happy!!

With the Dinan axleback now in place, it DEFINITELY cleaned up any raspiness that I had with the non-res AA EL only; now I can't tell you if the welding helped 100% or not, but I am not a fan of clamps and brackets. These eventually fail and loosen up over time, so I wanted a solid & permanent connection. Working to upload several videos I've taken just this afternoon: without a doubt, the Dinan isn't coming off my car.

That sounds bitch’n! Congratulations! Love that you had it welded. I might have to try that out with my AA EL resonated mid-pipe after I save up another couple grand! |

Alright...found some empty parking lot...stationary revs at the end (around 1:14 is Efficient for 3 revs, then Sport for a few revs, finished strong with Sport+).

I totally get that, but the drone is a really nice one, not annoying in any sense: the car is more alive, more communicative! If going on a road trip, put it in Efficient mode and no drone whatsoever.
